Project Zomboid update 42.19 is rolling out on PC(Steam). According to the official Project Zomboid patch notes, the latest update introduces controller re-mapping, expanded gamepad support, stronger multiplayer anti-cheat systems, major performance improvements while driving, occupation and crafting balance adjustments. Apart from this, Project Zomboid patch 42.19 also includes fixes for animals, generators, trailers, multiplayer syncing, exploits, UI behavior, and gameplay stability.

New Features
- Added controller re-mapping support.
- Added extended seated idle animations.
UI and Controller
- Added a new gamepad customization menu.
- Added X button support for clearing text fields.
- Added a vertical scrollbar to the survival guide.
- Updated the User List interface.
- Removed the outdated Choose Mods button from server settings.
- Fixed controller issues across map selection, load game screens, world map, crafting stations, notes, sprinting, aiming, and window interactions.
- Fixed controller focus and input problems in several menus.
- Fixed survival guide and tooltip display issues.
- Fixed various UI scaling, icon, text, and menu problems.
Balance Changes
- Updated the Discomfort moodle color for better visibility.
- Hunter occupation now grants +1 Tracking instead of +1 Trapping.
- Hiker occupation cost changed from -6 to -5.
- Adjusted encumbrance values for multiple items and moveables.
- Increased thread required for fabric rolls from 100 to 400.
- Removed Railroad Track and Railroad Track Piece until fully implemented.
Multiplayer
- Enabled additional anti-cheat protections for commands, XP, permissions, and safehouses.
- Restored Ban IP functionality for Steam servers using direct connections.
- Fixed item duplication, endurance exploits, and server map data exploits.
- Fixed weapon magazine loss after reloading.
- Fixed zombie duplication, disappearance, and spawn timing issues.
- Fixed split-screen visibility issues.
- Fixed animal syncing, trailer interactions, and relogging problems.
- Fixed safehouse settings, chat channels, and server option issues.
- Fixed multiplayer crafting, fishing, stealth XP, inventory, and medical UI issues.
- Resolved multiple server-side exceptions related to animals, exercise, anti-cheat systems, and other gameplay actions.
Gameplay Fixes
- Improved rendering performance, especially while driving through towns.
- Fixed all animals spawning as female.
- Fixed severe performance issues linked to high generator tile range values.
- Fixed trailers flipping during attachment under certain conditions.
- Fixed crashes caused by changing resolution in-game.
- Fixed profession recipe unlock issues for Engineer, Farmer, and DIY Expert.
- Fixed generator fuel calculations, power detection, and indicator light behavior.
- Fixed gas station pumps not correctly detecting electricity.
- Fixed vehicle, bomb, sink, radio, and inventory interaction issues.
- Fixed multiple farming, animal, water, and environment-related bugs.
- Fixed climbing ropes over water, picking up corpses, disassembling objects, and log gate interactions.

- Fixed hydration packs not updating encumbrance when filled.
- Fixed tent destruction, bag spawning issues, and several item tooltip problems.
- Fixed graphical errors during loading, construction, and shoreline rendering.
- Corrected various text, naming, and recipe display errors.
Since the last patch, players are experiencing problems with the game. Unfortunately, players are still experiencing several issues. Today’s Project Zomboid patch 42.19 will address a few of these issues.
