Overwatch 2 (OW2) Update 3.84 Patch Notes (1.000.049)

Blizzard has released a new Overwatch 2 update 3.84 on PS4, PS5(1.000.049), PC, and Xbox One. According to the official OW2 3.83 patch notes, the latest update brings Overwatch 2 and World of Warcraft themed skins and rewards. Apart from this, OW2 update 3.83 also includes armor and tank adjustments, along with improvements to Damage and Support heroes. Competitive Drives introduce new seasonal progression rewards.

  • New Legendary Skins: Sylvanas Widowmaker, Lich King Reinhardt, Thrall Zenyatta, and Diamond Magni Torbjorn skins.
  • Unlock Free Rewards: Up to 8 free rewards including emotes, voice lines, and Plays of the Game inspired by World of Warcraft.

Role Queue Mystery Heroes

  • New game mode added to the Unranked menu.
  • Open Queue Mystery Heroes removed from Unranked.
  • Custom games still support Open Queue Mystery Heroes.

Deathmatch

  • Moved to Arcade menu, appearing in daily rotation.

Competitive Updates

Competitive Drives

  • Limited-time events: Complete Drives to earn rewards like Competitive Points and Signatures.
  • 6 Checkpoints in each Drive with escalating rewards:
    • 500 Competitive Points
    • Signature upgrades (Basic, Advanced, Elite)
  • Losing reduces Drive Score, but Checkpoints protect progress.
  • Signatures reset after Rank Reset.

Hero Updates

General

  • Armor flat damage reduction decreased from 10 to 7.

Tank Role Passive

  • Knockback resistance reduced from 40% to 25%.

D.Va

  • Mech armor reduced from 375 to 325; base health increased from 200 to 225.

Orisa

  • Fortify movement speed penalty reduced from 20% to 10%.

Roadhog

  • Take a Breather resource regeneration rate increased from 8 to 10 per second.

Sigma

  • Hyperspheres impact damage reduced from 25 to 15; explosion damage increased from 30 to 40.

Damage Hero Updates

Bastion

  • Spread reduced from 2.2 to 2 degrees for Configuration: Assault.
  • Ultimate cost for Configuration: Artillery reduced by 12%.

Cassidy

  • Flashbang hinder duration reduced from 1.2 to 0.9 seconds.
  • Explosion damage increased from 45 to 75.

Hanzo

  • Maximum damage increased from 120 to 125 for Storm Bow.
  • Charge time increased from 0.72 to 0.87 seconds.

Venture

  • Shield health gained per ability reduced from 40 to 30.

Support Hero Updates

Moira

  • Coalescence damage per second increased from 70 to 85.

Lifeweaver

  • Thorn Volley max ammo increased from 80 to 100.

Zenyatta

  • Destruction Orb damage increased from 48 to 50.
  • Orb of Discord cooldown per target reduced from 7 to 6 seconds.

Map Updates

Clash

  • Fast Respawn removed after capturing a point.

Flashpoint

  • Spawn speed boost duration increased from 1 to 2 seconds.

Bug Fixes

GENERAL
  • Fixed an issue where players were not gaining credit when queuing for all roles in challenges and progression stats.
  • Fixed an issue where wall climbing heroes could infinitely ledge grab.
HEROES

CASSIDY

  • Fixed an issue where Deadeye would incorrectly indicate a killing blow on Ramattra.

D.VA

  • Fixed an issue with D.Va’s Boosters movement speed stacking multiplicatively with speed boosting abilities.

LIFEWEAVER

  • Fixed an issue that would cause Lifeweaver’s petal platform to continue to rise when interacting with Mei’s Ice effects.
  • Fixed an issue where Lifeweavers’s petal platform can move horizontally if placed on a moving object.

SIGMA

  • Fixed an issue with Sigma’s Gravitic Flux percentage health damage being affected by damage reduction.

SYMMETRA

  • Fixed an issue where audio would remain muffled if you used a teleporter while hindered.

Previously, a major Overwatch 2 update 3.60 added a new game mode – Hero Mastery as well as various changes to heroes, including damage adjustments, cooldown tweaks, and improvements to abilities. Today’s Overwatch 2 patch 3.84 will fix a few of these issues.
