Norland Update 19 Patch Notes for PC

Norland game update 19 is rolling out on PC. According to the official Norland patch notes, the latest update introduces new village defense quests, improves weapon lethality, removes armor requirements for hunting, and fixes multiple bugs related to combat, character behavior, and GUI issues. Additionally, Norland update 19 also includes stability fixes.

New Features

  • Village Defense Quests:
    • Quest to defend the player’s village from a bandit attack.
    • Quest to defend the player’s village from an attack by an AI lord faction.
  • Inquisition: Now travels across the global map to the player’s city instead of teleporting to the city entrance.
  • Lesser Lords: Lesser lords can now settle in abandoned cities.
  • Bandit Soldiers: Soldiers hired from bandit camps now receive the “Former Bandit” trait.
  • Combat Response: If a character in rage attacks their mortal enemy, the enemy will now use a weapon to defend themselves.
  • “Shame Mask” Trait: Added an icon and tooltip for the “Shame Mask” trait.

Changes

  • Weapon Lethality: Weapons are now more lethal against unarmored or unshielded targets.
  • Combat Injury Traits: Minor bruises replaced with minor cuts for slashing and stabbing weapons.
  • Bandit Attacks: Bandits will not attack while the “Loving Family” protection is active.
  • Shame Mask:
    • The game no longer pauses if a lord starts a fight with a character in a shame mask.
    • Beating a character in a shame mask no longer adds the “Fight” sin.
  • Tantrums: Characters in a tantrum (Rage or Beating) will not flee or surrender during battle.
  • City Attack: Players can no longer declare attacks on AI cities where their troops are present as support.
  • Hunting Requirements: Armor is no longer required for hunting—only weapons.
  • City Demolition: Buildings on fire or with enemy squads cannot be demolished.
  • Marriage Quests: No marriage quests will be generated if only hired free lords are without partners in the player’s faction.
  • Auto Trade: The “Auto Trade” option is now enabled by default.

Fixes

  • Training Bug: Fixed an issue where the last strike during soldier training could deal real damage.
  • Worker Quit Bug: Fixed a bug where all workers could quit in the player’s city.
  • Messenger Bug: Fixed an issue preventing messengers from being sent if the player’s king was on a campaign or insane.
  • Reinforcement Bug: Fixed a bug where reinforcements could remain in an AI city after a threat was over.
  • Trade Modifier Bug: Fixed an issue where the “Decline in Trade” modifier stopped working after the first game load.
  • Loyalty Bug: Fixed a bug where an AI lord with low loyalty could spontaneously join the player’s faction.
  • Love Desire Bug: Fixed a bug where a lord could get the desire to meet a loved one who was permanently sent to the church.
  • Ransom Bug: Fixed a bug where a captured lord in a bandit camp was immediately killed instead of triggering a ransom quest.
  • Exclusion Letter Bug: Fixed an issue with the exclusion letter incorrectly written by the player’s king.
  • Dead Character Bug: Fixed a bug where killed but unburned characters still considered buildings their home.
  • Imperial Crown Bug: Fixed an issue where the player’s king did not wear the Imperial Crown immediately after proclaiming himself Emperor.
  • Enemy Squad Pathing Bug: Fixed an issue where an enemy squad walked back to the map’s start before attacking after being engaged.
  • Wolf Attack Prophecy: Fixed inconsistent wolf numbers in prophecy hints.
  • Faction Banner Bug: Fixed an issue where faction banners with the same color displayed with artifacts.
  • Manual Battle Crash: Fixed a crash when a quest result window was open during a manual battle on the global map.
  • Enemy Orders: Fixed the functionality of enemy orders to set buildings on fire with arrows.
  • Ally Attack Issue: Fixed situations where allies or vassals were attacked without a visible quest.
  • AI City Destruction: AI plans to attack other settlements will now be canceled if their city is destroyed.
  • Faction Change Quest: If an AI lord prematurely changes factions, the associated quest will now be canceled.
  • Army Freeze Bug: Fixed a bug where an army arriving at a battle would freeze instead of engaging after the battle ended.

GUI Fixes

  • Resource Numbers: Resource quantity numbers in building menus now have shadows for better readability.
  • Damage Tooltip: The damage tooltip has been widened for better display.
  • Faction Relations Tooltip: Widened to fit all content.
  • Lord Tooltip Layout: Fixed the layout of the lord tooltip to ensure all traits and skills fit.
  • Character Menu: Fixed the layout of the top panel and character tooltip.
  • City Menu Layout: Fixed relation displays in the city menu to fit correctly.
  • Punctuation Fixes: Punctuation marks and brackets are now more accurately moved to a new line.

Recently, the game released with positive reviews. Unfortunately, since the Norland day one patch, players are still experiencing several issues since the release. Today’s Norland version will fix a few of these issues.
