Previously, a major free No Man’s Sky Relics update update 5.60 added palaeontology, allowing players to unearth and design fossils, recreate ancient creatures, and battle stone guardians. It adds fossil trading, improved abandoned mode, and rare skeletal lifeforms. Relic expeditions offer rewards like skeletal companions and Living Stone customizations. Unfortunately, players are still experiencing several issues. NMS update 5.064 will fix a few of these issues.
