NMS update 5.11 is available rolling out on PS4, PS5(Version 5.011.000), PC, and Xbox One players. According to the official NMS 5.11 patch notes, the latest update brings record catch notifications and improved fishing mechanics. Apart from this, No Mans Sky version 5.11 also adds various bug fixes related to freighters, starships, and missions.

New Features & Improvements
- Record Catch Notifications: Players are now alerted when they achieve new record catches.
- Fishing Activity: Players actively fishing are marked as “Busy” for group invites.
- Improved Fishing Mechanics:
- Better accuracy for the fishing float in rough seas.
- Enhanced effects when releasing fish back into the water.
- Increased visibility of fishing lines under various lighting conditions.
- Specialist bait can now be stored in the Exo-Skiff’s cold storage.
- Expedition Missions: Improved objective clarity for several expedition steps.
- Mission-Specific Fishing: Adjusted catch rates for specific fishing-related missions.
Bug Fixes
Fishing
- Fixed an issue preventing quick access to items in the Nutrient Processor during cooking.
- Resolved a bug where fish could occasionally swim above the water surface.
- Fixed difficulty in targeting interactable objects while holding a fishing rod.
- Fixed rare popups obscuring the view of recently caught fish.
- Resolved a visual issue causing a grey or black dot in the starship crosshair when boarding with a fishing rod equipped.
- Fixed multiple minor audio issues and out-of-sync wave sounds when fishing.
Freighter & UI
- Fixed a rare bug causing freighters to reset during warps.
- Resolved an issue where resources would disappear from Freighter Refiner Rooms during capital ship warping.
- Fixed UI and label issues in freighter customization and title selection screens.
Previously, a major free No Man’s Sky update 4.40 added a relaxed mode, overhauled inventories, revamped UI, and improved missions. Unfortunately, players are still experiencing several issues. NMS update 5.11 will fix a few of these issues.
