EA NHL 25 update 1.040 (1.4.0) is available to download on PS5, and Xbox Series X/S players. According to the official NHL 25 1.040 patch notes, the latest update brings 4 Nations Face-Off integration into multiple game modes, improves AI behavior, and fixes Franchise Mode issues related to game results and contracts. In addition, NHL 25 patch 1.040.000 also includes new uniforms for several ECHL and CHL teams.

4 Nations Face-Off Integration
The 4 Nations Face-Off content is now available in the following modes:

Gameplay Updates
PWHL
- Added PWHL No Escape Rule (Rule 15.5).
General Improvements
- Fixed an edge case where users couldn’t perform reverse hits.
- Improved AI decision-making when covering the puck carrier or transitioning, reducing unnecessary gliding.
- Enhanced AI checking and shoving behavior near the puck carrier.
Arcade Fixes
- Removed goal review issues that incorrectly nullified valid goals.
- Fixed an issue where goalies could get stuck and unable to recover until a powerup ended.

General Fixes
- Fixed an issue where game results weren’t showing in the HUB until advancing a day or switching leagues.
Conversations & Contract Negotiations
- Fixed an issue where skater scheme fit options under a previous coach remained locked after hiring a new coach.
- Adjusted tuning to make charming a player easier at the start of contract negotiations when team interest is low.
- Statistical goals now display the minimum stat requirement for attribute boosts.
World of CHEL Fixes
- Fixed an issue in NHL Arcade where tiny goalies got stuck after a desperation save.
- Resolved controller disconnection issues in the creation zone causing network problems.
- Addressed game configuration failures when entering WoC Dressing Rooms.
- Fixed desync issues in NHL Arcade, EASHL Club Finals (3v3 & 6v6).
- Corrected disallowed goals not counting in NHL Arcade.
- Fixed a 3v3 Quickplay issue where goal replays incorrectly showed an empty Carter Lake rink.
- Resolved an issue where users could get kicked from parties in EASHL private drop-in games.
Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT) Fixes
- Various visual and art fixes.
- Fixed team name appearing twice on Coachella Valley Firebirds jerseys and logo cards.
- PWHL X-Factor player portraits now correctly appear in the edit lines tab.
- Fixed an issue where players could bypass Moments progression and access locked Moments.

Recently, NHL 25 patch 1.010 added quality of life changes. Unfortunately, players are facing online connection and server issues with the game.
