Multiversus update 1.40 (1.2.2) is available to download on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and PC. According to the official MVP update 1.40 patch notes, the latest update added new fighter (Beetlejuice) to the game. Apart from this, MultiVersus version 1.040 also brings inetcode and map improvements.

New Fighter: Beetlejuice
- Available Now: Purchase with Gleamium or character ticket. Available for fighter currency on August 23, 2024.
General Game Updates
- Local Play Mode: All fighters will soon be available for local play modes.
Netcode Updates
- Performance: Improved during low client framerate and better packet loss handling.
- Input Delay Fixes: Resolved issues with high ping and lag spikes.
Social Features
- Friends List: Now sorted alphabetically.
Rift Updates
- New Rift: “Ghost with the Toast” PvE Rift available now.
- Coming Soon: Crisis in Townsville Rift.
- Mission Changes: Updated Node 4a mission to “Hit an enemy with 5 dash attacks”.
- Bug Fixes: Fixed treasure missions, ambient audio issues, and CoOp camera problems.
Rift Combat Updates
- Item Interaction: Bots more likely to pick up and throw items.
- Dexter’s Lab: Adjusted Rift Buddy Bubble movement.
- Jump Pads: Launch players higher.
- Fireballs: No longer apply ignite stacks on contact.
Maps
- New Map: Teen Titans Tower.
- Variants: 1v1 and Teen Titans Tower 2.
- General Map Changes:
- Upper Blast Zones: Extended by 50% on all maps.
- Throne Room (1v1): Walls removed, and now in Ranked 1v1 pool.
- Water Tower: Platform and hazard adjustments.
- Tree Fort 2: Removed bounce pad trees.
Ranked Mode Changes
- Grandmaster Rank: Returns for top 100 players. Special banner awarded to those finishing the season in Grandmaster.
- Leaderboard: Tracks Master tier characters across multiple fighters.
- Rank Progression: Players can now be immediately promoted from Bronze and Silver after high MMR wins.
Combat Changes
- Dodge Cancels: Cost reduced to 2 units, and visual clarity improved.
- Dodge Fatigue: Base time increased to 10 seconds.
- Wall Cling/Fatigue: Maximum wall fatigue now reached after 5 seconds.
- New Priority Hitboxes: Low priority attacks added, cannot trade with normal attacks.
- Terrain Bounces: Knockback reduced, no longer affected by decay.
- Automatic Ground Teching: New mechanic to stop ground bounce combos.
Character Updates
- Arya:
- Hurtbox adjustments, and reduced hitbox duration for Neutral Attack.
- Batman:
- Batarang now destroyed after 3 seconds or ring out. Dive kick startup increased.
- Finn:
- Charge times significantly reduced, whiff windows delayed.
- Garnet:
- Improved hitbox and armor on Side Attack 2.
- LeBron:
- Buffed after winning Gold; reverted changes to Air Down Special.
Bug Fixes
- General: Addressed inaccuracies with damage stats and attack trades.
Previously, a major MultiVersus update 1.07 added new features, fixes, and more. Unfortunately, players are still experiencing several issues. Today’s MultiVersus patch 1.35 will fix a few of these issues.
