MOUSE P.I. For Hire update 1.008 (v1.0.4) focuses on stability, control customization, and progression reliability. Overall gameplay flow and menu interaction now perform more consistently.
According to the official MOUSE P.I. For Hire patch 1.008 patch notes, the latest update also fixes startup crashes and audio glitches, privacy settings expanded, and multiple clue triggers repaired to ensure achievements unlock as intended.

Fixes and Improvements
- Fixed a crash that could occur for Steam players during game launch.
- Enabled full rebinding support for standard movement keys (W, A, S, D).
- Corrected a problem that trapped players in a repeating loop when confirming Gamepad control changes.
- Added a new option in the Settings Menu allowing players to decline data and analytics tracking after onboarding.
- Resolved distorted or glitching sound effects when adjusting sliders, using the weapon wheel, or navigating menus.
- Ensured the “Game Over” music track is muted when the Licensed Music toggle is turned off.
- Restored the missing clue reward when freeing the jailed Cop in the “Clergy Row” mission, allowing proper achievement progress.
- Fixed the missing clue trigger after speaking with the Cheeselegger Foreman in “The Old Subway,” enabling correct achievement tracking.
Recently, Mouse update 1.007 added quality of life changes and tweaks. Unfortunately, players are still experiencing several issues while playing the game. Today’s MOUSE: P.I. For Hire version 1.008.000 will fix a few of these issues.
