According to the Modern Warfare 2 version 1.22 patch notes, the latest season 05 update introduces exciting new content, including maps, modes, and weapons, across Modern Warfare II and Warzone. Apart from this, COD Modern Warfare 2 patch 1.22 also includes stability fixes.
Previously, a major Modern Warfare 2 Season 4 update added a new medium-sized Warzone map, seven new Multiplayer maps, four new armaments and an infamous (masked) face. Unfortunately, many players are still experiencing a number of issues while playing the game. Today’s Warzone 2 update 1.22 will address a few of these issues.

Modern Warfare 2 version 1.22 Patch Notes – August 2, 2023
Modern Warfare II Changes:
New Core Maps:
- Punta Mar (Launch) – A recently evacuated tourist attraction in Las Almas, offering fast-paced, close-quarters combat on a hill overlooking a South American beach.
- Strike (Launch) – A classic map from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, restored to its full glory with some slight adjustments to fit Modern Warfare II’s gameplay.
New Mid-Season Core Map:
- DRC – Zone 1 (Mid-Season) – Set in the vicinity of Building 21, offering rapid-paced chaotic core combat on the DRC research campus.
New Modes:
- Havoc (Launch) – A brand-new Core Multiplayer mode with classic arena-shooter gameplay, featuring random modifiers that change gameplay in chaotic ways.
- Big Capture the Flag (Launch) – Classic Capture the Flag mode on a larger 20v20 scale, providing epic matches on streets and marshlands.
- Gunfight Snipers (Mid-Season) – Focus on sniper or marksman rifles, without secondary, tactical, and lethal equipment.
- Armored Gunfight (In-Season) – A variation of Gunfight with armor enabled, changing takedown tactics.
- Faceoff (4v4) (Mid-Season) – Fast-action gameplay with increased player count for small-team cage matches.
New In-Season Weapons:
- M13C (Assault Rifle – In-Season) – A .300 BLK counterpart to the M13B, offering versatility and hard-hitting power.
- New SMG, Sidearm, and Melee Weapon (In-Season) – A new SMG with an integrated suppressor, a mid-range sidearm for flexibility, and a simple yet effective Pickaxe melee weapon.
Six New Operators:
- Oz (Launch) – A cyber soldier and CEO of Shadow Company, ready to lead the global presence of the faction.
- Graves (Battle Pass) – Founder and CEO of Shadow Company, a former Special Ops Team Chief, and a proud American.
- Arthur (Limited-Time) – Little information available on this Operator.
- Mila (Limited-Time) – Little information available on this Operator.
- Velikan (Launch) – A mysterious Shadow Company mercenary with legendary exploits.
- Mace (Mid-Season) – A returning face, assisting Shadow Company with clean-up duties.
Hip Hop Celebration:
- Season 05 celebrates 50 years of Hip Hop culture with special guest Operators, including Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, and 21 Savage.
- Free hip hop War Tracks available for logging in between August 7 and August 16, with special Weapon Blueprint as a reward.
Other General Changes:
- Prestige Rank cap increased from 17 to 21, with a new maximum level cap of 1,050.
- Owners of Modern Warfare II can access Season 05 content, including four new maps and the Havoc mode.
- Additional limited-time Operators during Season 05 to celebrate hip hop culture.
- Various bug fixes and improvements to enhance gameplay experience.
Warzone Changes – Season 05
New Battle Maps:
- Punta Mar: A brand-new map in Las Almas, a recently evacuated tourist attraction with a South American beach view.
- Strike: Restored version of a core map from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, with slight adjustments for Modern Warfare II.
- Lounge: A high-scale, high-octane club map designed for Gunfight and other small-squad modes.
- DRC – Zone 1: A new zone in the DRC research campus, providing a fresh location for Modern Warfare II Multiplayer.
Havoc Mode: A new game mode with match-changing modifiers, unlocked as squads reach multiples of 12 kills.
Gunfight Snipers: A variation of Gunfight mode focusing on snipers and marksman rifles only.
Armored Gunfight: A mode where squads start with 150 HP of armor, offering a unique twist on standard Gunfight.
Faceoff (4v4): Fast-action gameplay of small-team cage matches returns, complementing Gunfight.
New Vehicles:
- MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected): A slower, heavily armored vehicle for combat and defense.
Active Combat Zones: Intense battles between factions with increased supplies and gear in these zones.
