Season 6

Halloween-Themed Madness

As the mid-season approaches, prepare for a Halloween extravaganza like no other. The Haunting event will bring a slew of spooky content, including Halloween-themed maps, modes, and events that will send shivers down your spine.

At launch, players can dive into four new multiplayer maps, each offering unique challenges and heart-pounding action. The Battle Pass introduces devilishly entertaining new Operators and Weapon Blueprints to enhance your gaming experience.

Operation Nightmare Unveiled

Let’s take a closer look at what to expect in Operation Nightmare, set to begin on October 17th:

  • Eldritch Anomalies: Mysterious anomalies have been detected across the Al Mazrah area, each harboring sinister secrets. Your mission is to investigate these locations and eliminate the “Most Wanted” targets along with any hostile forces.
  • Ancient Tomb: Unearth an ancient tomb complex filled with hieroglyphs and a mysterious entity known as “The Pharaoh.”
  • Unidentified Anomalies: Reports of strange lights and unidentified anomalous phenomena in the night sky over undisclosed locations.
  • Spectral Entity: Encounter a spectral entity with seemingly accessible areas that require Operator vehicles to access, all moving at a rapid pace.
  • The Swamp Creature: Venture deeper into the swamp and face an abomination known as the “Swamp Creature,” armed with non-standard weaponry.
  • Glowing Ethereal Entity: Witnesses describe a glowing, wisp-like ethereal entity and multiple hostiles known as “Evil Spirits.”
  • Altars of Lilith: Investigate the stone walls and platforms, including the Altars of Lilith and the enigmatic Nightmare Portal codenamed “The Butcher.”

Vondead: A City Overrun

Across Vondel, a city that has fallen victim to demonic incantations, a zombie outbreak has taken hold. The streets run red with blood, and a rare Blood Moon casts an eerie scarlet glow over the city. Graveyards, altars, and other locations bear witness to the chaos.

You’ll have the opportunity to infiltrate the Graveyard, the epicenter of the summoning activity. And there’s a menacing entity known as “The Butcher” lurking in the shadows. Can you summon the courage to face this hulking demon and reap the rewards?

Zombie Royale Returns

Zombie Royale, a fan-favorite limited-time mode, is back with new innovations and a twist. Once eliminated, players become fast-moving zombies with unique abilities. Survive, or become part of the undead horde and seek victory as a squad.

Vondead Lockdown

The Vondead Lockdown mode returns, delivering objective-based Battle Royale action. Capture and hold zones around the map, all under the ominous light of a moonlit night in Vondel.

Otherworldly Equipment and Items

The Haunting introduces otherworldly loot to Al Mazrah and Vondead. Keep an eye out for Captured Souls, Haunted Boxes, and the Bloodseeker Grenade as you navigate the terrifying landscapes.

DMZ Mode

For those ready to confront Operation Nightmare, DMZ Mode offers nighttime hunts for preternatural entities across Al Mazrah. Perfect your team’s skills before diving into the heart of the haunting.

Four New Maps at Launch

To kick things off, Season 06 introduces four brand-new maps, each offering a unique battlefield for players to conquer:

  1. La Casa (Core, Launch): Set in the luxurious estate of Las Almas, Mexico, La Casa features a dual-wing layout with living quarters in the east and a massive dining room and offices in the west. Expect intense firefights as you navigate this opulent but deadly environment.
  2. Koro Village (Core, Launch): Reminiscent of the classic map “Toujane” from Call of Duty 2, Koro Village takes place in a wintry desert town. Traverse through the snow-covered streets, engage in intense close-quarters combat, and utilize the rooftops for strategic advantages.
  3. King (Gunfight, Launch): A fan-favorite Gunfight map from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) returns. Engage in fast-paced battles on a symmetrical map that requires speed and tactics to come out on top.
  4. Fight (Gunfight, Launch): The Fight map offers extreme close-quarters engagements, with Operators moving through various shoot houses. Quick reflexes and precision aiming are the keys to success in this compact battleground.

Halloween-Themed Map Reskins

Mid-season, two maps receive spooky Halloween-themed makeovers:

  • El Asilo: Celebrating Día de Muertos, this map features larger-than-life calaveras (skulls) overlooking the festivities. Marigolds, candles, and altars honoring lost loved ones adorn the landscape.
  • Embassy: Diplomacy has broken down, and an evening operation is underway on Embassy after a gruesome zombie attack. The once-pristine location is now in shambles, with structural damage and a sense of impending doom.

Twisted Classic Modes

Season 06 introduces a chilling twist to classic game modes. Here are some of the spine-tingling variations:

  • Haunting Domination (Mid-Season): In this version of Domination, Scarecrows act as markers for each flag, adding an eerie element to the classic control-point game.
  • Haunting Kill Confirmed/Grind (Mid-Season): Instead of collecting Dog Tags, players must collect skulls in Kill Confirmed and Grind, creating a macabre atmosphere.
  • Haunting Drop Zone Drop Scares (Mid-Season): While capturing and holding the Drop Zone, players must be cautious while opening crates, as unexpected horrors might await.
  • Haunting Infected (Mid-Season): In this twist on Infected, players who become infected will appear as “The Haunting”-themed Zombies, adding a terrifying dimension to the mode.

New Weapons to Unleash

Season 06 brings a host of new weaponry to the fray:

  • TR-76 Geist (Assault Rifle — Launch, Battle Pass): This hard-hitting bullpup assault rifle packs a punch with its 7.62 x 39 mm rounds. Customize it to fit your preferred playstyle, whether you favor mobility or raw firepower.
  • ISO 9mm (SMG — Launch, Battle Pass): This SMG offers a high fire rate and exceptional steadiness, making it perfect for close-quarters combat.
  • Dual Kamas (Melee — Launch, Battle Pass): These curved blades bring a deadly precision to close-quarters encounters.
  • DOOM Chainsaw (Melee — Mid-Season, Bundle): Straight from the DOOM series, this chainsaw is as brutal as it gets. Wield it with deadly intent against your foes.

The Haunting: Possessed Equipment

Some of your loadout equipment has become possessed, adding an extra layer of tension to your battles:

  • Sound Veil Scream (Field Upgrade, Mid-Season): Stepping into the sound wave of the Suppression Mine unleashes hallucinatory audio assaults, filling the air with the screams of the dead.
  • Decoy Grenade (Tactical, Mid-Season): Reports suggest that this grenade produces inhuman and monstrous sounds, adding to the eerie atmosphere of battle.

BlackCell’s V4L3RIA

BlackCell introduces V4L3RIA, a hybrid machine ready for battle. With semi-transparent skin and a robotic voice, V4L3RIA is a unique Operator that brings a futuristic edge to the battlefield. Purchasing the BlackCell bundle unlocks V4L3RIA, her Tactical Pet Megabyte, COD Points, and more.

Spawn Headlines the Battle Pass

Last but not least, the Battle Pass for Season 06 takes a devilish turn as the legendary antihero Spawn takes the spotlight. Witness the transformation of U.S. Security Group assassin Al Simmons into Spawn, and unlock additional Spawn Operator Skins and other monstrous additions from the underworld.

A Haunting Season: Special Events and Rewards

As the terror of The Haunting spreads throughout Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Warzone in Season 06, players can expect a wide array of special events and rewards that add an extra layer of excitement to their gameplay. From collecting souls to ranked play rewards, here’s a glimpse into what you can look forward to:

The Haunting: Soul Capture Event (Mid-Season)

The Soul Capture Event is an enhanced and fear-inducing variation of the popular Trophy Hunt Event from Season 03, available across all game modes. Every time a player is eliminated, they leave behind a Soul. These Souls are automatically added to your total in all game modes, eliminating the need to visit a Buy Station in Warzone or DMZ. You can trade these Souls for items shown in the Events Tab, offering an additional layer of strategy to your gameplay.

Increase the number of Souls you capture by facing off against a variety of monsters lurking across Warzone’s maps. The more items you redeem, the closer you get to unlocking impressively themed items for your efforts, making The Haunting a season of both fear and rewards.

The Haunting: Daily Login Rewards (Mid-Season)

As the creeping terror of The Haunting infiltrates Modern Warfare II and Warzone, players can expect to receive a variety of free, limited-time cosmetic items simply by logging into the game. These daily login rewards add an extra incentive to keep coming back for more action and surprises as the season progresses.

Al Simmons (New Operator)

“I need to finish this, and I need to do it alone.”— Al Simmons, Spawn Comic Vol. 1 #257

Players who purchase the Season 06 Battle Pass system will immediately unlock the Al Simmons Operator, Spawn’s Mortal World identity. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Simmons grew up to become a skilled assassin and military intelligence officer who was then betrayed by his former colleagues and murdered during a mission. Sent to Hell for his work as an assassin, he made a deal with the devil to return to Earth as none other than Spawn.

Spawn (New Operator, Tier 0 Skin, and Tier 100 Skin)

“You sent me to Hell. I’m here to return the favor.”— Spawn, Spawn (1997)

Receive a more tactical variety of Spawn at the start of your Battle Pass progress. Unleash hell with the mightiest Spawn Operator Skin of them all after completing all 20 Sectors of the Battle Pass system and reaching Tier 100.

Other Available Operators and Skins

Burned Spawn (Al Simmons Skin)

Prior to his transformation into Spawn, Al Simmons was deceived and burned alive. This shrouded figure is one of many forms Spawn takes.

Creepy Clown (Fender Skin)

A hell-born half-demon of considerable power and deviancy, the arch-villain Violator has taken the form of a rotund clown to anger Spawn.

Violator (König Skin)

Closer to the true form, the cruel and arrogant Violator brings “death on two legs” in the form of a grotesquely headed Operator to further infuriate Spawn.

Disruptor (Horangi Skin)

Masquerading as a businessman and responsible for the death and transformation of Al Simmons, Disruptor is known by many names and is feared as a crime lord.

Soul Crusher (Vega Skin)

A mysterious rival of Spawn’s, Soul Crusher is an enigmatic figure, using noxious gasses to asphyxiate his victims into submission.

Nikto Spawn (Nikto Skin)

Operator Nikto favors a similar tactical look and impressive mask getup and takes it to the next level with this Spawn homage.

ISO Hemlock Assault Rifle — ISO Platform (Launch, Battle Pass)

A powerful and enhanced rifle from Expedite Firearms is designed to take both 5.56 and subsonic .300 BLK ammunition, providing battlefield-advantage in any situation.

How to unlock:Free weapon within the Season 02 Battle Pass.

KV Broadside Shotgun — Kastov Platform (Launch, Battle Pass)

Bringing the power of the 12 gauge to the Kastov Platform, the KV Broadside is the fastest-firing semi-auto firearm in the shotgun class. Destroys targets at close range with impunity.

How to unlock:Free weapon within the Season 02 Battle Pass.

Dual Kodachis Melee Weapon (Launch)

A powerful melee weapon that can quickly move towards a target with a longer-range attack. Each swipe has an impressive range and faster forward motion towards enemies compared to the Knife melee weapon, though this comes at a slight cost, a slower strafe and sprint speed.

How to unlock:Free weapon within the Season 02 Battle Pass.

Crossbow (Marksman Rifle Category) (Launch Window)

Silent and agile, this high-performance crossbow fires 20.0” bolts with exceptional lethality. Exclusive customization, distinct functionality, and unique ammunition types put this weapon in a class of its own. Standard 20.0” bolts are recoverable, and are undetected by trophy systems.

How to unlock:Complete all seven Path of the Ronin Event challenges, or purchase via Store Bundle.

New Personal Watercraft Vehicle

Complementing the armored Patrol Boat and the midsized RHIB, the Personal Watercraft (PWC) is a nimble seacraft capable of swiftly carrying up to two Operators across any body of water in Ashika Island or Al Mazrah.

New Operators

Daniel “Ronin” Shinoda (Launch)

Returning fromCall of Duty®: Modern Warfare® (2019), Ronin is the ex-Special Forces fighter known for his mastery of multiple fighting styles and unconventional warfare.

Warzone Season 2

New Warzone Map with Resurgence Mode Returns.

Ashika Island is a new map in Call of Duty: Warzone that is ideal for the Resurgence game mode. Resurgence allows for multiple respawns as long as one squad member is still alive, with a countdown timer shortening if squadmates perform specific in-game actions.

New Feature: Restore Honor

Every Operator on Ashika Island will drop a dog tag upon death once per match (Resurgence), which can either be picked up by a squadmate or themselves after redeploying. Doing so grants a small Cash reward, as well as a single UAV ping that marks both enemy threats and nearby Supply Boxes.

New Contract Search and Seizure

Ashika Island will have an additional contract — Search and Seizure — to take up for Cash and other in-match rewards. It is expected to go live in-season.

New Public Event: Data Heist

During the second circle collapse, three uplink stations will come online around the map, allowing players to download critical intel from them. In exchange for valuable in-match rewards, squads can hack into and stand near the uplink station to gain this intel, but they will face resistance from Shadow Company combatants guarding these precious machines.

Redeploy Drones

Redeploy Drones, the high-tech successor to the Redeploy Balloons you first used on Caldera, are the high-risk, high-reward way to reposition around Ashika Island, to be deployed during Season 02.

New Combatant: Rusher

A new type of Combatant joins their ranks to fulfill that extreme close-quarters combat (CQB) role: the Rusher. Rushers are meant to be downed just as quickly as they sprint, especially in confined and indoor spaces where they are most effective. Expect them to hit the ground running in Resurgence mode, with AI only appearing under certain conditions such as during a Data Heist.

DMZ Expands to Ashika Island.

Season 02 will see DMZ experience its first reset, allowing all Operators to start with a clean slate while keeping all permanent content they earned in Season 01, along with their Insured Weapon Slots.

New Boss – Bombmaker – and Weapons Case on Ashika Island

Operators will be able to find him somewhere on Ashika Island. He holds a new Weapons Case for Season 02, which contains all-new permanent rewards for Operators to flaunt within and outside of DMZ.

Modern Warfare 2

The other Core map launching at the start of Season 02 is Valderas Museum, returning since first appearing in theModern Warfare IIBeta.

New Game Modes in Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 update 1.15

Infected (Launch)

Ever sinceCall of Duty®: Modern Warfare 3(2011), this mode is known for being infectious fun.

In Infected, Operators must avoid the chosen Infected player at all costs. Every survivor eliminated joins the Infected team until none remain or until the five-minute time period elapses.

Gun Game (Launch)

One of three party game modes launching in season, Gun Game is a competition of overall gun skill. Every ranged elimination awards a different weapon, while melee eliminations put your opponent one weapon back on the 18-weapon rotation. Show off your prowess with a variety of weapon categories, then finish the job with a Throwing Knife to win.

Grind (Launch)

The third mode whose roots trace back toModern Warfare 3, Grind is Kill Confirmed with an added twist: enemy dog tags are stackable and must be banked at one of two fixed locations.

Hardcore (Launch)

As previously announced, the Hardcore playlist will return in place of the Tier 1 playlist at the start of Season 02.

Drop Zone (In-Season)
