Minecraft update 2.93 (Bedrock 1.21.20) is rolling out on PS4. According to the official Minecraft 2.93 patch notes, the latest update addresses critical issues with game performance, stability, and gameplay mechanics. Key fixes include resolving download problems, improving mob behavior, and refining block interactions. Apart from this, today’s Minecraft patch 2.93 also enhanced Wind Charge mechanics and improved drop rates for certain mobs make gameplay smoother and more consistent.

Performance / Stability

  • Download Issues: Resolved bugs causing content downloads to get stuck at 0% and broken content updates.
  • World Conversion: Fixed item and block corruption during conversion from legacy Console Edition.
  • Amazon Devices Crash: Fixed occasional crashes on Amazon devices when joining a world.

General

  • Marketplace Content: Fixed issue where Marketplace content wasn’t properly imported before world creation.
  • Legacy World Rendering: Legacy worlds no longer have non-rendering chunks at their edges.

Gameplay

  • Chunk Environment: Fixed a bug causing environment changes within chunks when far from spawn.
  • Heavy Core Block Sound: Sound emitted when walking on a Heavy Core Block is now correctly controlled by the audio slider.
  • Trial Chambers: Reduced the spawn rate of Trial Chambers in the Deep Dark biome.
  • Movement and Momentum: Jumping no longer cancels momentum from Wind Burst explosions.
  • Loot from Vaults: Vault loot in Trial Chambers is now dependent on level, position, and player seed.
  • Loading Screen Damage: Players no longer take damage during world load or dimension transfer.
  • Bed Crawling Bug: Fixed a bug where players momentarily entered a crawl when moving towards a bed with a 1.5 unit gap above.
  • Area Effect Clouds: Area Effect Clouds no longer shrink when entered by immune entities.

Mobs

  • Bogged Attacks: Underwater melee attacks by Bogged no longer apply the Slowness effect, and Bogged no longer levitate in boats or minecarts.
  • Parrots: Parrots now correctly imitate Bogged when nearby.
  • Witch Drops: Witches now consistently drop 4-8 Redstone Dust, improving farm viability.
  • Mob Animations: Fixed mob animations not playing when mobs are unloaded in split-screen mode.
  • Breeze Stuck Bug: Minecraft update 2.93 fixed Breeze getting stuck when attacking beneath a roof.
  • Entity Preservation: Entities that fail to load due to missing content are now preserved and reappear when content becomes available.
  • Drowned Spawning: Drowned now spawn individually in rivers and in aquifers within dripstone caves.
  • Wildlife Behavior: Wolves, Bears, and Pandas now panic and avoid danger when damaged by environmental sources.
  • Pufferfish Effect: Pufferfish now give Nausea I instead of Nausea II when consumed.
  • Zoglins: Zoglins now play angry sounds when chasing players or mobs.
  • Bee Drowning: Bees now start taking drowning damage after one second underwater.
  • Dismounting: Mounts and vehicles no longer gain slight velocity during dismount.

Blocks and Items

  • Crafter Sound Range: Minecraft 2.93 fixed issue with Crafter being audible from more than five blocks away.
  • Texture Fixes: Addressed inconsistencies in various block textures including Trial Spawner, Quartz Slab, and Sunflower.
  • Double Doors: Doors of different materials can now form double doors.
  • Heavy Core Block: The Heavy Core Block is now correctly scaled and positioned in Item Frames.
  • Bell Block: The Bell Block no longer rings twice when hit with a Wind Charge Projectile.
  • Scaffolding Flicker: Fixed flickering of Scaffolding blocks at far distances.
  • Copper Doors: Copper Doors now drop only when mined with the correct tool.
  • Creative Mode Blocks: Doors no longer drop when the top block is mined in Creative mode.
  • Quartz Bricks Crafting: Crafting Quartz Bricks now yields 4 bricks instead of 1.
  • Mushroom Drop Rate: Increased mushroom drop rates from Red and Brown Mushroom Blocks to match Java Edition.
  • Trapdoors and Fence Gates: These no longer push players or mobs when activated by Redstone.
  • Double-Plant Blocks: Fixed breaking issues of double-plant blocks in older world versions.

Wind Charge

  • Summoning: Wind Charge Projectile can now be summoned via the /summon command.
  • Riptide Interaction: Minecraft PS4 update 2.93 fixed Trident with Riptide enchantment incorrectly canceling Wind Charge fall damage reduction.
  • Projectile Damage: Player-fired Wind Charges no longer deal more than 1 damage per hit.
  • Speed Increase: Increased player-fired Wind Charge speed by 50% to match Java Edition.
  • Mob Griefing: Wind Charge Projectiles no longer toggle blocks when Mob Griefing is disabled.
  • Projectile Damage: Mounted entities are no longer immune to Wind Charge damage.
  • Knockback Consistency: Wind Charges now work consistently across all terrain types.

  • Tuff Blocks: Break, place, and hit sounds now pitch differently.
  • Crafter Sounds: Random pitch offset added to craft and fail sounds.
  • Mob Spawner: Added break, fall, hit, jump, land, place, and step sounds.
  • Vaults: Added sound effect for already looted Vaults.

Realms Invite Links

  • Invite Links Management:
    • Create up to 5 links per Realm.
    • Enable/disable, set expiration dates, or delete links.
    • New links now 15 characters long.
    • Manual creation required for new Realms.
    • Unused existing links will be deleted.

Realms

  • Fixed Packs: RealismCraft and others now work correctly (REALMS-11940, REALMS-11913, REALMS-11916).
  • Crash Fix: Resolved issues with Realms Stories on busy Realms.
  • Improved Navigation: Items on Realms purchase screens now focusable with gamepad.
  • Bug Fixes: Various fixes, including Realms Stories, button visibility, and error screen handling.

Accessibility

  • Apple Pencil: Recognized as a valid input method (MCPE-158895).
  • Screen Narration: Now describes how to accept game invites on Android and iOS.
  • Text to Speech: Now reads “How to Play” screens.

Customizable Controls

  • Control Stability: Customized controls no longer revert after flight (MCPE-180234).
  • HUD Display: Paper doll can now be shown when customizable controls are enabled (MCPE-176334).
  • Button Sizing: Stability when going up/down Scaffolding or Ladders (MCPE-178820).
