Minecraft patch 1.039 is available to download on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. According to the official Minecraft 1.039 patch notes, the latest MC update brings quality of life changes. In addition, today’s Minecraft update 1.039 (version 1.039.000) also includes stability and performance fixes.

Minecraft 1.039 Patch Notes – January 8, 2026

Fixes:

Accounts

• Fixed player data becoming disconnected from account for Xbox players in split-screen mode.

Graphical

• Fixed an issue where textures would not be correctly reloaded when changing between graphics modes in the main menu
• Fixed an issue where add-on resources disappeared after a second Player joined a split-screen session.

General

• Fixed a bug that could cause players to get disconnected if “/effect @e” command is used on too many entities.

Items

• Fixed issue where compass sprite was occasionally invisible.

Realms

• Fixed a freeze that could happen when buying a Realm on Nintendo Switch

Technical Updates

Graphical

• Fixed attachables not rendering correctly when the game is paused or when rendered in an NPC UI window.

The following changes were added previously.

Blocks

• Bamboo Stalks now render without transparency at long distances, matching Sugar Cane and Cactus behavior unless using Simple graphics.

Editor

• Fixed Selection/Quick-Move mode entering an invalid state when using Enter to confirm a selection in Quick Move mode.

• Corrected Vibrant Visuals pane behavior so chosen settings display properly.

• Resolved freezes and crashes when Quick Move was used on very large brush selections.

• Fixed incorrect water rendering in Vibrant Visual mode within the Editor.

Graphical

• Fixed sunlight leaking through walls near areas such as cave entrances when using Vibrant Visuals.

Input

• Fixed a Windows issue where mouse scrolling unintentionally moved the camera.

Previously, a big Minecraft update 2.87 added quality-of-life improvements and fixes. Unfortunately, since the last MC patch 2.73, players are still facing issues with the game. Today’s Minecraft version 1.039.000 will fix a few of these issues.
