Minecraft 2.61 Patch Notes (Minecraft PS4 Version 2.61)

Minecraft version 2.61 (Bedrock update) is available on PS4, PC, Switch and Xbox One. According to the official Minecraft 2.61 patch notes, the latest update resolves various issues related to touch controls, crashes and other bugs. Apart from this, today’s Minecraft update 2.61 also includes perfromance improvements.

Previously, a big Minecraft update 2.54 added quality of life improvements and fixes. Unfortunately, since the last major update, players are still facing issues with the game. Today’s Minecraft patch 2.61 will fix a few of these issues.

Minecraft 2.61 Patch Notes (Bedrock)

  • Fixed an issue that prevented purchasing or renewing Realms on PlayStation

Previously, added the following changes

  • Addressed a game crashing bug that could occur during gameplay.
  • Addressed an issue where Pistons can recreate moving blocks that were destroyed mid-move
  • Fixed a bug where Horses can be pushed over Fences with Carpets on top.
  • Fixed missing Touch control selection screen on Nintendo Switch.
  • Fixed the Structure Block screen so the Y value field can properly be accessed with just the keyboard.

Technical Updates:

  • The “minecraft:variable_max_auto_step” component has a new property “controlled_value”
    • This property will override “base_value” when a mob with “minecraft:input_ground_controlled” is being controlled by the player
    • “jump_prevented_value” will have precedence over both other values
