Marathon Update 1.014 Patch Notes (v1.0.6.2) for PS5 and PC

Bungie has released a new Marathon update 1.014 (v1.0.6.2) on PS5 and PC. According to the official Marathon update 1.0.6.2 patch notes, the latest update introduces a new weekly free kit, strengthens the WSTR Combat Shotgun for PvE, and significantly rebalances the Slug Converter mod. Access control improvements in Cryo Archive prevent early wing entry.

Additionally, Marathon patch 1.014 also fixes run-joining errors and multiple interface issues affecting inventory and HUD visibility.

Update 1.0.6.2 Highlights

• Weekly free Cryo Archive Sponsored Kit added to the item economy.
• WSTR Combat Shotgun damage increased while critical damage reduced for balance.
• Slug Converter Prestige mod received major tuning to accuracy, velocity, and critical damage.
• New vent restrictions added in Cryo Archive to prevent early wing access without proper clearance.
• Fix applied for players being unable to join runs due to startup errors.

Item Economy

• One free Cryo Archive Sponsored Kit can now be claimed every week.
• Issue fixed where Rooks did not spawn with the updated loadout of 6 Depleted Shield Charges and Depleted Patch Kits.

Weapons

• WSTR Combat Shotgun
  • Damage increased from 78 to 85.
  • Critical damage multiplier reduced from 1.15x to 1.05x.
  • Damage falloff slightly slowed.
  • Added 75% bonus damage against AI enemies.
• MIPS Slug Converter Prestige Mod
  • Fixed collision issue when aiming near cover, vents, ladders, or corners.
  • Critical multiplier increased from 1.15x to 1.9x.
  • Projectile speed reduced and bullet drop increased.
  • Aim assist cone radius reduced by 48%.

User Interface and Experience

• Reinforced shield icon now correctly displays a plus symbol inside the shield.
• Armory HUD no longer disappears when hovering over offered items.
• Overflow inventory screen now properly shows the item grid instead of empty space.

Contracts

Outpost

• Issue fixed where Runners could become stuck behind barriers in the Drone Wing during the Mida Truth/Lies 2/6 contract.

Zones

Cryo Archive

• Vent covers added in Biostock and Preservation to block early wing access until Security Clearance 2 is unlocked.
• Security Clearance 1 is now required to open vents when infiltrating from those sides.
• Scan terminals now reliably reveal battery locations on the map.

General

• Voice chat push-to-talk toggle on controllers now works consistently.

Stability

• Issue fixed that could prevent players from joining a run due to an error during startup.

Localization

• C.A.R.R.I. commendation description now displays correctly across supported languages.

Recently, the Marathon update 1.005 added quality of life changes. Unfortunately, players are still experiencing several issues while playing the game. Today’s Marathon update 1.0.6.2 will fix a few of these issues.
