When Does the PAYDAY 3 Beta Come Out?
First and foremost, Starbreeze is using the PAYDAY 3 beta to test backend infrastructure and server stability rather than showcase new gameplay features.
“This beta is a technical test first and foremost,” said community manager Austin Walker in the company’s FAQ. “We are prioritizing meeting our technical goals over letting people try the game.”
By focusing on infrastructure, developers hope to smooth out issues like matchmaking, friends lists, and cross-platform play before launch. Feedback from beta participants will help optimize these elements.
When Does the PAYDAY 3 Beta End?
The PAYDAY 3 beta will be accessible on Steam and Xbox consoles.
Players can expect full cross-platform support, allowing cooperative heists between PC, PlayStation, and Xbox players. Progression will not carry over from the beta to the full release, however.
How to Play the PAYDAY 3 Beta
Gamers hoping to join the closed beta should:
- Steam: Visit the PAYDAY 3 store page and click “Request Access” near the top.
- Xbox: Open the Xbox Insider Hub app, go to Previews, and select PAYDAY 3.
Access is granted randomly, not first-come first-served. Check your email inbox frequently to see if you’ve been selected.
Unfortunately, there is no way to directly invite friends into the beta test at this time. Selections are completely randomized.
