Halls of Torment (HoT) update details released for PC(Steam) players. According to the Halls of Torment patch notes, the latest Frozen Depths beta update introduces a new stage, new characters, new abilities, and more. Apart from this, the Halls of Torment patch also includes stability fixes.
Unfortunately, since the last Halls of Torment patch, some players are experiencing bugs and errors in the game. Today’s HoT patch will fix a few of these issues.

Halls of Torment Frozen Depths Update Patch Notes – July 31, 2023
- Frozen Depths: A new stage, unlocked by beating the Frost Knight on the Forgotten Viaduct. It comes with new enemies and challenges. While the stage is functional, the unlockable content is still to be done.
- New Characters:
- Norseman: A character focused on quick melee attacks can be unlocked through the Frozen Depths.
- Character #9: A huntress with a loyal beast and ranged Ice attacks is expected to be introduced in the coming weeks.
- New Abilities: Two new base abilities, Flame Strike & Frost Avalanche, have been added. Both are fully functional.
- Agony Mode: A new challenging game mode that scales up based on player performance. Champions in this mode drop additional loot.
- Frost Effect: A new effect added where frost does initial damage, and more when the enemy dies or when the 21st stack is applied.
Bug Fixes
- Gold rewards when dying/winning now depend on the stage.
- All lords now work by getting stronger over time and having reduced Health pools.
- Reroll potions for abilities and items have been added.
- Characters now get automatically some stats every level (defensive) / 10 levels (offensive).
- Characters have more traits now that benefit specific play styles.
- General balancing work on abilities and characters.
- Piercing and Duration have been replaced by Force, which also boosts Knockback of melee attacks.
- Item Balancing – Most items have seen a boost in strength.
- All damage effects are now limited to 20 stacks. They trigger damage when trying to apply once again.
- Fixing several smaller and bigger bugs.
