Guilty Gear Strive update 1.48 (version 1.048.000) is rolling out on PS4, PC, and PS5. According to the official Guilty Gear Strive 1.48 patch notes, the latest update adds Lucy as a playable character, introduces Ranked Match mode with RP and Duel Rating tiers, and includes Cyberpunk-themed music. Apart from this, Guilty Gear Strive patch 1.48 (1.048) also adds new avatar items and badges, and improvements for several UI and matchmaking features.

New Content
- Lucy Added: New playable character available via Season Pass 4 or individual DLC.
- New BGM Tracks: Includes music from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Cyberpunk 2077, playable across modes.
- Avatar & Gallery Items: New parts for Lucy, David, Rebecca; two new skin colors; updated GG WORLD entries.
Ranked Match Mode
- New Online Mode: Compete for RP across ranks from Iron to Vanquisher.
- Placement Matches: First 10 matches per character determine rank.
- Vanquisher Tier: Top-tier players earn Duel Rating (DR) and exclusive badges.
- UI Changes: “Online Match” renamed to “Lobby Match”; “Rank Tower” to “Duel Tower”.
Gameplay & Features
- Celestial Floor Revamp: Now treated like other floors; promotion/demotion rules updated.
- New Badges: Celestial, RP Rank, and Vanquisher DR badges added.
- Player Search: Search by name or conditions via R-CODE.
- Connection Type Indicator: Shows wired/wireless status in Ranked Matches.
- Vote to Cancel Match: Triggered by high ping/rollback values.
- Block Function: Block opponents after interrupted matches.
Fixes & Improvements
- Battle Version Updated: From 4.06 to 4.07.
- Lighting & Visuals: Improved stage lighting and character visuals.

Previously, a Guilty Gear Strive update 1.21 added a new character Bridget to the game. Unfortunately, players have been experiencing issues with the game since the last patch. Today’s Guilty Gear Strive version 1.48 will fix a few of these issues.
