Grand Theft Auto 3 Definitive Edition update 1.007 (1.007.000) released on PS4, PS5, PC, and Xbox. According to the official GTA 3 update 1.007 patch notes, the latest update adds the classic lighting mode to consoles and PC. Additionally, GTA 3 Definitive patch 1.007 also enhances the models and textures.

Visual and Environment Improvements
- Enhanced texturing in select locations.
- Improved reflections using planar reflection technology.
- Corrected spelling errors on in-game signage.
- Overhauled rain effect for a more realistic experience (second revision).
- Improved shadow mechanics to real-time movement instead of static chunks.
Gameplay Fixes and Changes
- Enabled movement while using shotguns and assault rifles, a new feature.
- Fixed Shoreside Vale garage doors to open correctly on both sides.
- Pay N’ Spray garage door fixed to remove repeating closing sound effect.
- Removed ‘bearboxes’ signage from Pay N’ Spray.
Map and Environment Fixes
- Restored missing road texture on Staunton Island.
Graphics and Visuals
- Classic Lighting Mode Added
- Introduced the classic lighting mode to console and PC, aligning them with the mobile version released two years ago.
