God of War Ragnarok update 5 (v5.0) is rolling out on PC. According to the official God of War Ragnarok PC patch notes, the latest update resolves crashes on boot, fixes visual issues with volumetric fog, and retroactively unlocks missing achievements. Apart from this, God of War Ragnarok patch 5 also enhances wireless DualSense controller support.
Recently, God of War patch 1.1.1 and update 2 improved surround sound calibration, enhances UI and controller support, and removes the 6GB VRAM block. Unfortunetly, since the release, players have been experiencing several stability issues. Today’s GOW Ragnarok update 5 will address some of these issues.

Stability Improvements
- Crash Prevention on Game Boot
Fixed crashes caused by corrupt or missing files on boot. The game will now notify players of bad files and prompt them to verify the installation.
Graphics Updates
- Volumetric Fog Fix
Resolved issues where volumetric fog in the Realm Between Realms and dream sequences did not render properly on NVIDIA 10xx, 20xx, and 30xx graphics cards.
Controller Updates
- DualSense Controller Support
When using DualSense controllers wirelessly, the game now defaults to rumble feedback, as haptics are only available with wired connections.
Achievement Fixes
- Retroactive Achievement Unlocks
Achievements will now unlock retroactively when loading save games.
Note: If you reload your save and your achievements are still not appearing, it might be due to a temporary issue with the Steam API. This could be caused by something like a firewall, internet connectivity problems, or other factors. Please check for any potential blockers and try reloading again.
