Generation Zero update 1.50 is available to download on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. According to the official Generation Zero 1.50 patch notes, the latest update introduces new missions on Aspholmen Island, revamped Base Defense mechanics, experimental weapons, and skill point uncapping. Improved crafting, inventory, and performance ensure a smoother gameplay experience. Apart from this, Generation Zero version 1.50 also include stability fixes.

New Features
New Story Missions
- Unlock Requirements: Character must be level 25 and have completed the main story (final mission: “Behind the Curtain”).
- Access: Initiate a level 3 Base Assault and enter the Tyrant’s hatch to start.
- Content: Explore Aspholmen Island with environmental storytelling, easter eggs, and engaging locations.
Base Defense Revamp
- Repair System: Bases can now be repaired for free after each defense.
- New Building Types:
- Drill: Produces Phosphorus for crafting items like grenades and fire-resistant clothing.
- Chemical Lab: Creates Ethanol for stealth armor and healing items; handle periodic explosions carefully.
- Furnace: Processes low-level materials into Refined Aluminium, Tungsten, or Uranium; requires heat management.
New Experimental Weapons
- “Any Ammo” AI-76: Compatible with various ammo types (e.g., .50cal, 7.62); stats adapt based on ammo.
- “Dragon’s Breath” Sjöqvist: Sets targets and surroundings ablaze with magnesium-infused pellets.
- “Smart Gun” HP5: Lock onto machine parts for auto-targeting precision.
Skill Point Uncap
- Unlock the full skill tree by reaching level 87. Retroactive skill points granted for past levels.
Encumbrance Changes
- Overencumbered players can now fast travel and move normally, with stamina penalties for excessive weight.
New Companion Armors
- Threat Armor: Redirects enemy focus to your Companion.
- Stealth Armor: Reduces enemy aggression towards your Companion.
Additional Companion Features
- 14 new Companion skins available through exploration and loot.
- Two new Companion voice packs: Small Cat and Big Cat.

Previously, a major Generation Zero update 1.37 added a customizable Machine Companion called the Runner to assist players in combat against Machines, with features like weapon selection, repairability, inventory, and customization options. Unfortunately, since the last major update, some players are still experiencing a number of issues with the game. Today’s Generation Zero patch 1.50 will address a few of these issues.
