Fortnite Update 5.08 Patch Notes (v40.30) for PS4, PC and Xbox One

Fortnite update 5.08 (v40.30) is available to download on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. According to the official Fortnite 5.08 patch notes, the latest update fixes problems mainly affecting controller input, cosmetic visuals, and building or traversal systems across multiple modes. Today’s Fortnite version 5.08 also includes general stability fixes.

Key Issue Highlights

  • Controller input may stop working after opening the Bonus Rewards screen.
  • Several vehicle bodies temporarily removed while technical problems are reviewed.
  • Ascendant Midas cape style shows missing textures during gameplay
  • Glider function can fail after interacting with a Bus Station in LEGO mode
  • Mobile players may be unable to Turbo Build when holding the Place button.

General Top Issues

  • Controller controls can become unresponsive after entering the Bonus Rewards tab.
  • Certain car bodies have been temporarily disabled due to active technical faults.
  • The “Shade” variant of Ascendant Midas’ Golden King’s Cape may display missing textures.
  • Lightyear Wings Back Bling may show visual display problems during matches.

Battle Royale, Reload, and OG Issues

  • Plants and foliage may appear incorrectly within the Desert biome.

LEGO Fortnite Issues

  • Gliders may stop functioning after players use a Bus Station.

Fortnite Mobile Issues

  • Turbo Build may fail to activate if the Place button is already being pressed.

Rocket Racing Issues

  • Displayed XP values on Daily Repeatable Quests may not match the actual rewards earned.

Previously, a major Fortnite update 4.93 (36.00) added quality-of-life improvements and fixes. Unfortunately, players are still facing several issues with the game. Today’s Fortnite version 5.07 will address a few of these issues.
