According to the official Fortnite 4.73 patch notes, the latest Fortnite v36.10 introduces the fast-paced K-Zone Commons map in Ballistic, new healing and weapon mechanics, and resets ranked play. Festival Season 9 brings Bruno Mars content and leaderboard features. Blitz Royale debuts as a 5-minute battle royale with rotating weekly themes and exclusive rewards. K-Zone Commons (New Shell Map)

• A fast-paced, Korean-inspired map designed for aggressive play and surprise flanks.

• Features multiple points of contention for dynamic engagements.

• Joins the map rotation alongside Skyline 10, Hammer Fall, Storm Chaser Cove, and Cinderwatch.

Machine Pistol (New Weapon)

• A fully automatic, short-range sidearm with a high fire rate and 14-round magazine.

• Strong as a finisher but requires recoil control.

• Low cost makes it a great secondary option.

Med Mist Grenade (New Gadget)

• Ballistic’s first healing gadget!

• Explodes on impact, creating a healing mist that restores health over time for allies (and enemies).

Pre-Game Warmup

• Practice your aim while waiting for players to load in.

• Test weapons and shoot training dummies before the match begins.

• Countdown starts once all 10 players are loaded.

Rank Reset: R&D Season 2

• A new ranked season begins! Play one match to establish your rank.

• Matchmaking now balances teams based on average party rank.

• Rank progression is influenced by:

  • Rounds won/lost

  • Eliminations & assists

EARLY ACCESS DEVELOPMENT UPDATES

Pre-Match Team Balancing

• Lobbies now even out teams (e.g., 5v3 → 4v4) before the match starts.

Hand Cannon Adjustments

• Added Hair Trigger option:

  • Tap to fire early (less accurate).

  • Hold for standard fire (unchanged rate/accuracy).

Coming Later This Summer

• Backfill system for players who leave mid-match.
