Fortnite Update 4.68 Patch Notes (v35.10) – May 16, 2025

Fortnite update 4.68 (v35.10) is available to download on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and PC. According to the official Fortnite 4.68 patch notes, the latest update adds the new Cinderwatch map, introduces the DL-44 Blaster Pistol, and makes gadgets free for all players. Today’s Fortnite patch 4.68 also includes stability and gameplay performance improvements.

Fortnite v35.10 Patch Notes

Summary of Key Changes:

• New Cinderwatch Shell Map with Mediterranean architecture.

• Gadgets are now free and come pre-equipped.

• Introduction of the DL-44 Blaster Pistol replacing the Ranger Pistol.

• Dedicated pistol slot added to inventory system.

• Major layout changes to Storm Chaser Cove and gameplay fixes across maps.

Map Updates

Cinderwatch Shell Map

• New map: Cinderwatch, inspired by Mediterranean-style architecture.

• Currently in feedback phase; details still evolving.

Storm Chaser Cove Adjustments

• Added a wall between Mid and Site B to increase flank travel time.

• Slight size increase to Site B.

• Additional low cover and props placed around the map.

Weapon & Inventory Changes

DL-44 Blaster Pistol

• Replaces the Ranger Pistol until v36.00.

• High accuracy and powerful sidearm from Fortnite: GALACTIC BATTLE.

Dedicated Pistol Slot

• Pistols now have their own inventory slot.

• DL-44 or any future pistols no longer replace a player’s primary weapon.

Gameplay Mechanics

Gadgets Are Free

• Gadgets are now automatically provided at round start.

• Players start each round with two free gadgets of their choice.

Vote-to-Surrender Feature

• Introduced in v35.10 for improved team-based decision-making.

Improvements & Fixes – v35.10

Storm Chasers Cove

• Fixed two exploits where players could leave the starting area before the barriers went down.
• Fixed several issues related to the mini-map not matching the actual space.
• Fixed an issue where players’ feet would clip into the floor in the Attacker’s Spawn area.
• Fixed an issue where Proximity Mines could clip into a pillar in Site B.

Hammer Fall

• Fixed an issue where players were able to Impulse Grenade themselves to an unintended spot near Statue Square.

Other Changes

• Overdrive’s duration has been reduced from 12 to 10 seconds, and its fire rate increase has been halved.
• Fixed an issue where players were sometimes unable to defuse the Rift Point Device when under the effect of Overdrive.
• Fixed an issue where the game would sometimes crash after selecting “Return to Lobby.”

Previously, a major Fortnite update 4.13 added quality-of-life improvements and fixes. Unfortunately, players are still facing several issues with the game. Today’s Fortnite version 4.68 will address a few of these issues.
