Fortnite update 30.40 is available to download on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. According to the official Fortnite 30.40 patch notes, the new update introduced fast travel via Battle Buses, changeable world settings, new toys, Pirate Lifestyle Bundle, vehicle builds, and UI updates. Additionally, today’s Fortnite patch 30.40 also quality of life changes.

New Features
Fast Travel with Battle Buses
- Battle Bus Stations: Set up in your world, allowing instant travel between locations.
- Build Your Own Stations: Destroy a Bus Station for Rift Shards to create new ones.
- Convenient Travel: Quickly move from villages to mining spots.
Change World Settings in Existing Worlds
- Flexible Settings: Change settings except mode and Player Elimination.
- Enemy Settings: Toggle enemies on/off with existing enemies remaining until defeated or area is left.
- Friendly Creatures and Villagers: Toggle off with existing ones remaining until area is left.
New Toys
- Pressure Plate: Activates channels when stood on, needs to stay pressed.
- Trigger Plate: Activates channels when stood on, doesn’t need to stay pressed.
- Activated Balloons: Inflate small and large balloons using channel control.
- Recipes for plates and balloons available by adding Blast Powder and crafting a Loom.
New Bundles and Items
Pirate Lifestyle Bundle (Available August 6)
- Captain’s Battlement Kit: Includes Captain’s Battlement Build and Planky Favorites Decor Bundle (1,000 V-Bucks).
- Captain’s Cabin Decor Bundle: 8 indoor decoration items (300 V-Bucks).
- Seaport Style Decor Bundle: 8 outdoor decoration items (200 V-Bucks).

Vehicle Builds
- Kart Racer and Offroad Flyer: New vehicle builds for fast and rugged travel.
Codex
- Catalogue Discoveries: Track and get information on items, hints, and recipes.
Map Improvements
- Enhanced Zoom and Pan: Zoom out further and pan across the entire world.
- Virtual Cursor: Use a controller to control the map.
- Ping Map: Drop markers to aid in travel.
UI Updates
- Increased Inventory: Now 32 slots available.
- Build Menu Filters: Filter by theme or set.
- Custom World and Village Names: Name your creations within community rules.
New LEGO Styles
- Outfit Updates: New LEGO Styles for Abyss, Antheia, The Cube Queen, Ember, and Indiana Jones.
