Fortnite Update 28.00 Patch Notes (FNCS Season 1)

Fortnite update 28.00 is available to download on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. According to the official Fortnite 28.00 patch notes, the latest Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 introduces an extensive competitive lineup, including 2024 FNCS Major 1 and various tournaments with different rank requirements and exciting new scoring systems, catering to a wide range of players from solo to duo and squad formats. Additionally, today’s Fortnite patch 28.00 also adds a mysterious new Island, governed by “The Society,” and introduces the resistance group, “The Underground.”

Previously, a major Fortnite update 23.30 added new features, new LTM modes, new changes, and much more. Unfortunately, players are still facing several issues with the game. Today’s Fortnite patch 28.00 will address a few of these issues.

  • Ranked and Competitive Play: Chapter 5 Season 1 introduces a ranking system as an eligibility criterion for Epic-hosted tournaments, including both cosmetic and cash prize tournaments.
  • Rank Reset for All Players: The season starts with a rank reset, requiring players to play one Ranked match to reveal their new rank.
  • 2024 FNCS and Tournament Details: Mero and Cooper won the 2023 FNCS Global Championship. FNCS will return in 2024, with more details to be released in January.
  • Scoring Updates: New scoring opportunities include capturing a Forecast Tower and Rift Loot Island POI, with plans for more mid-match objectives in future seasons.
  • Ranked Cups Return: Ranked Cups offer solo, duo, and squad formats in both Battle Royale and Zero Build, with opportunities for solo fill players. Earning 75 points in any Ranked Cup session rewards players with the High Society Ranker Glider.
  • Mix-Up Mondays: These weekly events feature varying scoring, formats, and goals.
  • Victory Cash Cups: These cups return for Solo Battle Royale and Duos Zero Build, offering cash prizes for each Victory Royale in Round 2.
  • PlayStation Cups: Scheduled from December 8, 2023, to January 14, 2024, these cups include qualifiers and finals in Battle Royale and Zero Build formats, with a total prize pool of $250,100.
  • Cash Cups: Traditional Duos Cash Cups are available, requiring at least Gold I rank in Ranked Battle Royale for participation.
  • Console Cash Cup: Exclusive to console players, these cups are in a two-round format, offering cash prizes and requiring at least Platinum I in Ranked Battle Royale.
