Fortnite 2.90 patch notes (v14.40) are now available for PS4,Xbox One, andPC players. According to Fortnite 2.90 patch notes, the latest update brings various changes for Battle Royale, Save the World and Creative Mode. Apart from this, Fortnite update 2.90 also includes stability and performance improvements.
Please note the patch size will be larger than normal on PC (approx. 27 GB). This is to make optimizations on PC resulting in a massively reduced Fortnite file size (over 60 GB smaller), smaller downloads for future patches, and improved loading performance.
Previously, a majorFortnite update 14.30 added new features and quality of life changes. Unfortunately, players are still facing several issues while playing the game online.

New
From October 21 until November 3, rise to the occasion in the return of Fortnitemares. In Fortnitemares 2020: Midas’ Revenge, don’t let the tomb hold you back from haunting the living. And while you’re at it, why not liven up your afterlife a little? Vanquish Challenges, hang out at a party, tour the Ghoulish Isles, or try some crafty cosplay IRL.
IF YOU CAN’T BEAT THEM, JOIN THEM
Shadow Midas and his reawakened Henchmen have reclaimed what was once The Agency. During Fortnitemares, you’ll follow in their phantom footsteps and haunt your adversaries on the Island.
After being eliminated in Solo, Duos, or Squads, return to battle as a Shadow for your shot at a Nitemare Royale. Join fellow Shadows to defeat survivors by using your otherworldly abilities, like possessing the body of vehicles.
WICKED TRICKS
From the realm of Shadows comes more than just the regenerated. As you roam the Island, pick up the Pumpkin Rocket Launcher, fight foes with the Fiend Hunter Crossbow, ride on a Witch Broom, and employ a new invention by Midas. The Shadows were even kind enough to bring candy as well.
FORTNITEMARES CHALLENGES & TREATS
Over the course of Fortnitemares, complete new Challenges to unlock special rewards, including Midas’ Shadow Wrap, the Smash O’-Lantern Pickaxe, Bobo Back Bling, and more! Be seasonally-appropriate or stay scary year-round.
J BALVIN BRINGS THE AFTERLIFE PARTY
Reggaeton Global ambassador superstar and four-time Latin GRAMMYⓇ winner J Balvin comes to Party Royale with the Afterlife Party, a special performance of Latin culture and hip-hop including the debut of his brand new song ft. Sech! The party begins at the Main Stage in Party Royale on October 31 at 9 PM ET (6 PM PT).
PARTY IT UP WITH PARTY TROOPER
For those looking to bring a costume to the party, the new Party Trooper Outfit is available in the Item Shop now all the way through November 1 at 8 PM ET. Own the nightlife with neon with this new take on this Fortnitemares favorite!
And as a memento of your J Balvin netherworld journey, all Party Trooper owners who attend any of the Afterlife Party showings in Fortnite will unlock the exclusive J Balvin style. Neon and Balvin flair combine in this special variant.
CREATIVE CODE HUNT
Over the course of Fortnitemares, Fortnite Creative will feature four Fortnitemares-inspired featured islands. Buried in each featured island, you’ll be able to discover digits of a mysterious code. Explore these haunted islands and combine 20 total digits to unearth the Wrath’s Wrath Wrap.
