Fishing Planet update 5.18 is available to download on PS4, Xbox One and PC. According to the official Fishing Planet 5.18 patch notes, the latest update brings the Dnipro River with 32 fish species and freshwater trolling. Enjoy new lures, baits, and the Dnipro Delta Pack. Apart from this, Fishing Planet patch 5.18 also adds new challenges like monster missions and unique catches.
Previously, a big Fishing Planet update 4.16 added the Selenge Mongolia and various quality-of-life fixes. Unfortunately, since the last patch, players are experiencing a number of issues with the game. Today’s Fishing Planet version 5.18 will fix a few of these issues.
Fishing Planet 5.18 Patch Notes – December 19, 2024
New Location: Dnipro River, Ukraine
- Added as a Level 46 fishing location.
- Features 32 fish species, including Carp, Northern Pike, Zander, and Beluga.
- Introduced new species: White-Eye Bream, Common Nase, Sterlet, European Weatherfish, Chinese Sleeper, Azov Shad, and Black Sea Roach.
Freshwater Trolling
- Trolling now available in all game locations.
- New Dnipro motorboat and rental boat support trolling gameplay.
- Recommended trolling targets: Wels Catfish, Northern Pike, and Zander using Twerky Runner lures.
- Trolling for Wels Catfish at night reflects real-life Ukrainian fishing practices.
Gear & Packs
- Dnipro Delta Pack: Includes a motorboat with rod holders, casting and spinning setups, lures, and a traditional outfit.
- New baits: Salo, Mamaliga, Corn Sticks, plus unique groundbaits like Gingerbread and Baked Milk flavors.
- New lures: Twerky Runners, Cicadas, Freaky Walkers, Bionic Slugs, and barbless Thorn Jig Heads.
Competitions & Missions
- Added 4 new competitions and two monster missions:
- Sturgeon Leviathan.
- Thorn-Ripper.
- New missions and achievements for the Dnipro River location.
Gameplay Updates
- European Weatherfish added to Lesni Villa, Czech Republic.
- Beluga catch option introduced for Dnipro River; European Eel can now be caught at the Tiber River, Ghent-Terneuzen Canal, and Sander Baggersee Lake. Advanced Licenses required.
UI Improvements
- Redesigned Competition Rules UI: Displays required equipment with a green checkmark if available in inventory.
Tournaments
- Fixed graphical artifacts on tournament banners swaying in the wind.
- Improved localization in the Tournament Details Popup.
- Corrected boat type identification during tournaments.
- Fixed issues with joining mechanisms becoming unavailable post-tournament start.
- Removed the “Apply” button after tournaments begin.
- Resolved interaction blocking when reopening the game during a tournament.
- Fixed a bug where prior competition results redirected players to the shore.
UI and Graphics Improvements
- Redesigned the Template Received and Cooldown windows.
- Corrected button colors in Repair and Wear & Tear modals.
- Enhanced clarity and usability of Buy/Sell windows.
- Adjusted incorrect item quantities in the Mission tab.
- Fixed blurred user avatars on the profile tab.
- Resolved alignment issues such as misplaced “check” icons during boat purchases.
- Updated Reel of Fortune UI for seamless gamepad input.
- Enabled short name edits in club management.
Physics and Gameplay Fixes
- Improved lure behavior when held in hand.
- Reduced foam around fish while reeling them closer.

- Lowered splash and ambient fish activity volumes.
- Fixed sound inconsistencies with tournament flags.
- Resolved wind-flapping sound on static tournament flags.
Game Stability and Functionality
- Fixed crashes in photo mode triggered by pressing “P”.
- Resolved crashes caused by hosts forwarding time during FT sessions.
- Prevented endless processing during regular competition registrations.
- Addressed crashes when interacting with rods after minimizing the game.
Miscellaneous Fixes
- Adjusted Golden Tench and Tench fish shaders for translucency issues.
- Resolved boat movement and captain interaction bugs.
- Fixed inventory transfer issues from Home Storage.
- Resolved empty Fish Species window for Saint-Croix Lake.
- Fixed the appearance of a large white figure near Sander Baggersee Lake.
- Other minor fixes and optimizations.
