Final Fantasy 7 remake update 1.002 is available to download on PS5. According to the official Final Fantasy VII remake update 1.002 changelog, the latest update introduces the “Head Start” mode, enabling faster progression with boosted characters, gear, and items. A fast-forward feature for event scenes at 1.5x or 2.0x speed enhances viewing convenience. Available for the main game and FF7R EPISODE INTERmission. Apart from this, FF7 Remake update 1.002 also includes stability and performance improvements.
Previously, a minor update was released with quality of life improvements. Unfortunately, since the launch, many players are experiencing a number of issues while playing the game. Today’s Final Fantasy 7 Remake version 1.002 is expected to fix a few of these issues.

New Game Mode: Head Start
- Players can now choose “Head Start” when starting a new game.
- Features of “Head Start”:
- Starting Level: All characters begin at level 45.
- Skill Points: Equivalent to level 45 progression.
- Materia: Several materia at maximum level.
- Gear: Characters are equipped with mid-to-late-game weapons and armor.
- Accessories: Includes mid-to-late-game accessories.
- Items: A variety of useful adventure items.
- Gil: Start with 50,000 gil.
- Available for both Main Game and FF7R EPISODE INTERmission.
Fast-forward Feature for Event Scenes
- Players can now fast-forward event scenes.
- Playback speed options: 1.5x or 2.0x.
- View scenes faster without skipping them entirely.
