Square Enix has released Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth update 1.040 (version 1.040.000) details for PS5. According to the FF7 Rebirth 1.040 patch notes, the latest update addresses several rare progression-blocking bugs, issues with unlocking photo frames, combat glitches, and display errors. Apart from this, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth version 1.040.000 also includes stability improvements.
Previously, FF7R update 1.020.000 added “Sharp” and “Soft” options to the screen output settings of performance mode.. Unfortunately, since the release, some players are experiencing issues. Today’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth patch 1.040 (1.040.000) will fix a few of these issues. A future Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth 1.050.000 will resolve more issues.

Bug Fixes:
- Resolved rare issues that could block game progression under certain specific circumstances
- Addressed a bug that could sometimes prevent players from unlocking photo frames even after meeting the requirements
- Fixed several bugs that could be triggered in particular combat situations
- Corrected a display issue where info was missing when choosing to play the Hard difficulty of Minigame X, Stage 2
- Remedied various minor graphical and display glitches
Stability:
- Made improvements to enhance overall game stability and reduce crashes
