ESO Update 2.80 Patch Notes (ESO Console Update 1.018.001)

[Elder Scrolls Online] ESO update 2.80 is available to download on PS4, PS5, and Xbox One. According to the official ESO 1.018.001 patch notes, the latest update enhances Update 48 reliability with fixes to Crystal Weapon, Solstice Antiquities, and Tales of Tribute. Major animation jitter issues were resolved, along with numerous Solstice quest blockers and event bugs. ESO update 2.80 also restore mount audio, correct visual delays, and stabilize inventory behavior.

Combat & Gameplay Fixes

General

  • Fixed weapon passives disabling after bar swapping, affecting One Hand & Shield and Ancient Knowledge with Ice Staff.

Sorcerer – Dark Magic

  • Crystal Weapon morph VFX now activates correctly.

Combat Animation Memory Reduction

  • Fixed jittering and strobing on two-handed weapons.

  • Prevented players being pulled out of first-person POV when using Traveling Knife.

  • Correct animation plays when moving and casting Traveling Knife.

  • Removed VFX/SFX delay on Blade Cloak.

  • Fixed arm jittering when using Accelerate with staves or two-handers.

  • Corrected right-arm animations for Time Stop and Borrowed Time.

  • Removed unintended combat stance during movement-to-idle transition.

  • Female Wood Elves and Imperials now use proper dance animations.

  • Smoothed bow transitions from light attack to idle.

  • Smoothed dual-wield swing-end animations.

  • Correct animations now used for Maelstrom Baron polymorph and Flame-Herald Bahsei.

  • Fixed incorrect strafing animation when crouched with an Ice Staff.

Mirrormoor & Mounts

  • Fixed VFX delay on Mirrormoor Blade Cloak.

  • Restored missing mount footstep sounds during running/sprinting.

Antiquities

  • Solstice Antiquities now drop all intended bonus loot.

Ossein Cage – Overfiend Kazpian

  • Biting Blaze no longer refreshes before the previous cast expires.

Writhing Wall Event

  • Dueling disabled temporarily to address event issues.

  • Fixed Siege Camp spawning in incorrect states.

  • Field Marshals now spawn every 4 minutes to match loot cooldown.

  • Fixed exploits allowing players past intact walls.

  • Restored missing localized Siege Camp text.

Lair of the Black Worm

  • Fixed respawn-timer issues with Riuzzan the Ravenous.


Feast of Shadows – Quest Fixes

Daily Quests

  • Eastern Solstice dailies now withheld until Writhing Wall progresses.

Choice & Consequences

  • Main character no longer changes outfits/equipment randomly.

The Final Dark

  • Fixed wave event preventing progression.

The Golden Knight

  • Ending dialogue now plays correct, non-repeating responses.

The Hermit in the Hills

  • Groupmates can no longer block quest progress during the cooking segment.

Lost Among the Ashes

  • Sirilonwe remains with the player in the Broken Halls.

  • Lore book now accessible if previously skipped.

Roots in Stone

  • Non-targetable edge-fighting monsters no longer aggro players.

The Worm Turns

  • Jeetra no longer exits conversation early.

Achievements

  • Fight Through Pain now awards correctly.


Base Game Fixes

Localization & UI

  • Event Ticket names corrected in Japanese, French, and German.

  • German Writhing Wall UI text fixed.

Tales of Tribute

  • Competitive campaigns now active and functioning.

Items & Inventory

  • Fixed items disappearing when equipped via addons from bank or inventory.
