ESO Update 2.73 Patch Notes (ESO Console Version 1.016)

[Elder Scrolls Online] ESO update 2.73 (Version 1.016) is available to download on PS4, PS5, and Xbox One. According to the official ESO 2.73 patch notes, the latest update 46 introduces a new story chapter on Solstice, a challenging trialsubclassing, and QoL upgrades. Apart from this, ESO update 2.73 also includes stability and gameplay performance fixes.

New Content: Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1

  • New Zone: Solstice – A mysterious island under threat from the Worm Cult.

    • Explore Western Solstice, uncover the cult’s plans, and face the Writhing Wall, a necrotic barrier.

    • Features:

      • New story quests, delves, world bosses, and a public dungeon (Deetra Grotto).

      • new 12-player trialOssein Cage (Normal & Veteran modes).

      • New item sets, collectibles (mounts, pets, outfits, etc.), and achievements.

Base Game Updates

  • Subclassing System – Free for all players, allowing deeper character customization.

  • Quality-of-Life Improvements:

    • Hero’s Return – Easier ways to rejoin the game after breaks.

    • Stackable Master Writs – Less inventory clutter.

    • UI Modernization – Updated PC interface.

    • Housing & Map Improvements – Better navigation and item retrieval.

New Trial: Ossein Cage

  • Fight in Mannimarco’s hidden vault in Coldharbour to destroy the Dolorous Cista.

  • Rewards:

    • Unique item sets (Perfected versions in Veteran).

    • Titles, skins, mounts, and housing items.

Item Sets & Collectibles

  • New Overland & Crafted Sets – Tailored for different playstyles.

  • Mythic Items – Powerful new gear like Rakkhat’s Voidmantle (alters Light/Heavy Attacks).

  • Collectibles:

    • Mounts (e.g., Heart’s Grief Welwa).

    • Outfits (Chaplain of the Worm Armor).

    • Pets (Solstice Sloth).

    • Titles and dyes (e.g., “Cista Breaker”“Dolorous Indigo”).

Base Game Updates

Furnishing Vault (ESO Plus Exclusive)

  • Store up to 500 unique furnishing items, with stackable quantities (e.g., 1,000 chairs = 1 slot).

  • Access stored furnishings from any owned home or via the Housing Editor.

  • Unlock via the Crown Store (placeable in homes or integrated into UI).

  • Excluded items: Gemmable furnishings, stolen items, Grandmaster Crafting Stations.

Hero’s Return (For Returning Players)

  1. Quest: Vanus Galerion guides you through combat refreshers and rewards.

  2. Bonus Login Rewards: Includes Hero’s Return Experience Scroll (removes wayshrine costs) and Wayshrine Navigation Chart (reveals unexplored wayshrines).

  3. Golden Pursuit: Reintroduces key locations/activities with rewards.

Map Improvements

  • Clearer quest icons, better visibility, and improved “Show on Map” prompts.

  • Enhanced new-player guidance for maps/wayshrines.

Unknown Master Writs

  • Master writs now start as stackable “Unknown [Crafting] Writ” envelopes.

  • Renamed from Sealed [Crafting] Writ to Master [Crafting] Writ.

Housing UI: ‘Retrieve To’ Function

  • Send furnishings directly to Inventory, Bank, Storage Coffer, or Furnishing Vault.

  • Drop-down menu in the Housing Editor’s Retrieval tab.

UI Modernization

  • Keyboard UI overhauled for a modern look (functionality unchanged).

Subclassing

  • Unlock via Crown Store quest.

  • Use two skill lines from other classes (but not two from the same class).

  • Restrictions: Slower leveling, abilities cost 2 skill points, and are locked to character level/skill rank.

  • Works with Armory Builds.

New Homes

  • The Sleepy Sloth (Inn Room): Earn via “Room to Spare” quest or buy for 3,000 gold.

  • Bismuth Steam Baths: Unlock via “Solstice Grand Adventurer” achievement or buy for Crowns.

  • Theater of the Ancestors (Crown Store Exclusive): Ayleid stage in the Colored Rooms.

New Furnishings

  • 13 achievement furnishings (unlocked via achievements).

  • 9 antiquity leads (including a music box).

  • 77 new plans (found in Solstice, fishing packs, treasure maps, etc.).

Champion Points Adjustments

  • Reduced costs for War Mount, Gifted Rider, Cutpurse’s Art, Wanderer, Liquid Efficiency, Soul Reservoir.

  • New Star: Discipline Artisan (+3% XP per stage for active subclass skills).

New UI Icons

  • Puzzle piece: Marks learnable items (e.g., Grimoires).

  • Green set icon: Indicates gear from Item Set Collections.

New Feature: Subclassing

  • Celebrate ESO’s 11th anniversary with Subclassing, allowing characters to learn skill lines from other classes.

  • Balance adjustments made to abilities and sets to accommodate this new system.

General Combat Changes

  • Pet Summoning Rules Updated:

    • PvE Zones: Max 10 pets (unchanged).

    • PvP Zones: Max 5 pets (new cap).

    • Oldest non-permanent summon despawns when cap is reached.

    • Exceptions: Permanent/Ultimate summons cannot be replaced. Companions count toward the limit but cannot be replaced.

  • Reduced Corpse Lifespans:

    • Sacrificial Bones: 5s (from 6s).

    • Class Mastery (Necromancer): 5s (from 10s).

    • Ghostly Embrace: 5s (from 10s).

  • Stealth & Invisibility Adjustments:

    • Abilities like Scorch, Bone Goliath, Banner Bearer, etc., now suppress or remove Sneak/Invisibility.

  • Beam Abilities Reclassified:

    • Radiant Destruction, Fatecarver, Soul Strike, and Vampiric Drain now count as Direct Damage (was Damage over Time).

  • Fixed Issues:

    • Passive Major/Minor effects now properly categorized as “procs.”

    • Flat cost reduction no longer works with multi-drain abilities (e.g., Sated Fury).


Class & Skill Line Adjustments

Dragonknight

  • Ardent Flame:

    • Combustion: Reduced damage bonus (16/33% → was 20/40%) and resource restore.

    • Searing Strike/Noxious Breath: Cost reductions.

  • Draconic Power:

    • Scaled Armor: Resistance buffed (1487/2974 → was 825/1650).

    • Dragon Leap: Added brief CC immunity after landing.

  • Earthen Heart:

    • Magma Armor: Disables Ultimate generation while active.

Templar

  • Aedric Spear:

    • Puncturing Strikes: Now hits 6 closest enemies (full damage to all).

    • Burning Light: Scaling adjusted (25/50% Weapon/Spell Damage).

  • Dawn’s Wrath:

    • Radiant Destruction: Channel duration increased (3.8s), now dodgeable in PvP.

  • Restoring Light:

    • Light Weaver: Now grants auto-block when channeling (replaced old armor bonus).

Nightblade

  • Assassination:

    • Master Assassin: Now grants Critical Chance (3.3/6.6% on flank).

    • Grim Focus: Stacks increased to 10 (from 5), glow now tied to stacks.

  • Siphoning:

    • Catalyst: More Ultimate from potions (15/30 → was 10/20).

Sorcerer

  • Daedric Summoning:

    • Conjured Ward: Healing now requires a pet.

    • Bound Armaments: Stacks increased to 8 (from 4).

  • Storm Calling:

    • Capacitor: Now grants flat recovery (70/141 → was %-based).

Warden

  • Animal Companions:

    • Bond with Nature: Healing increased.

  • Winter’s Embrace:

    • Glacial Presence: Chilled chance buffed (125/250% → was 100/200%).

Necromancer

  • Grave Lord:

    • Flame Skull: Now generates a corpse on 3rd cast.

    • Death Knell: Critical Chance now applies below 33% Health (was 25%).

  • Bone Tyrant:

    • Bone Armor: No longer spawns corpses out of combat.

Arcanist

  • Herald of the Tome:

    • Fatecarver: Cost +40%, damage +8%, now caps at 6 targets.

  • Curative Runeforms:

    • Healing Tides: Healing per Crux increased (2/4% → was 1/3%).


Weapons & World

  • Dual Wield:

    • Hidden Blade: Bounced daggers now originate from targets.

  • Restoration Staff:

    • Blessing of Protection: Fixed server strain and line-of-sight issues.

  • Soul Magic:

    • Shatter Soul: Explosion damage now classified as direct/channeled.

Scribing Adjustments

  • Major changes to Scribed abilities will reset them to base form (refund 3 Luminous Ink).

  • Ulfsild’s Contingency: Cost adjustments and bug fixes.

  • Banner Bearer: Visual fixes and cost updates.

Previously, a major ESO update 40 added new features, various tweaks and changes. Unfortunately, players are reporting several problems with the game. Today’s ESO version 2.73 will solve a few of these problems.
