[Elder Scrolls Online] ESO update 1.017 (Console Update 47) is available to download on PS4, PS5, and Xbox One. According to the official ESO 1.017 patch notes, the latest ESO Update 47 launches with the Feast of Shadows Dungeon Pack, adding two new 4-player dungeons with unique rewards. The Writhing Wall event expands the fight against the Worm Cult, while base game updates bring long-requested features like mount swimming and stackable survey reports. ESO version 1.017.000 also includes a long list bug fixes and changes.

The Elder Scrolls Online v11.1.5 – Feast of Shadows & Update 47
Feast of Shadows
Two New Dungeons! A new PvE dungeon pack, Feast of Shadows introduces two challenging new four-player dungeons for Tamriel’s adventurers to explore and overcome. Both dungeons feature their own complete stories and in-game rewards while tying thematically into the larger Seasons of the Worm Cult saga.
Naj-Caldeesh
The legendary Xanmeer of Naj-Caldeesh was hidden long ago. All but forgotten by the Stone-Nest Argonians of Solstice and left with few defenses, it seemed as though the Xanmeer’s secret would remain buried. However, a faction of Argonian Necromancers uncovered the entrance. Help stop the necromancers before they can corrupt the mysterious power inside and unleash Naj-Caldeesh’s Voskrona Guardians on the rest of Solstice.
Black Gem Foundry
In one of the many twisted pathways of Coldharbour lies the freshly forged Black Gem Foundry. The cruel masters of this infernal armory are fusing black soul gems into weapons and armor, resulting in armaments that steal life essence with each attack. Dalenor the Summoner, scholar of Daedra and friend of atronachs, barely escaped with his life after discovering the Foundry’s nefarious plot to send these armaments to support Coldharbour’s forces along the Writhing Wall. He’s located a portal that leads directly to the Black Gem Foundry, but he needs your help to shut it down.
New Dungeon Infomation
- Naj-Caldeesh and Black Gem Foundry are 4-player dungeons which can be found in Solstice.
- Naj-Caldeesh’s entrance is in central Solstice west of Sunport.
- Black Gem Foundry’s entrance is located in southern Solstice northwest of the Shell-Tide Village wayshrine.
- Both dungeons include a Normal version in addition to a Veteran version. Each dungeon features challenging Hard Modes for each of their three boss encounters.
- There are unique item sets, including two new Undaunted Monster Mask sets, only available within the Dungeons.
- Unique Achievement awards are available for completing the dungeons, including the following:
- Unique Skill Styles
- The “Weakness to Elements, Orange” skill style is available for those that complete the “Naj-Caldeesh Vanquisher” achievement.
- The “Fire Rune, Dazzling White” skill style is available for those that complete the “Black Gem Foundry Vanquisher” achievement.
- Unique Skin
- The “Xanmeer Defender” skin is available for those who complete both Naj-Caldeesh and Black Gem Foundry on at least Veteran difficulty and trigger the achievement “Feast of Shadows Delver”.

- The Seed-Heavy Hist Bulb and Slippery Soul Gem mementos are available to players who complete Naj-Caldeesh and Black Gem Foundry, respectively, on at least Veteran difficulty.

Battle for the Writhing Wall
Battle for the Writhing Wall is a unique event that unites Tamriel on a mission to combat the Worm Cult and destroy the Writhing Wall in Solstice. This event progresses through three phases, with more activities becoming available as the event continues and the final battle approaches.
Please note, this will not be available when Update 47 launches. We will have more information regarding The Writhing Wall event timing in September.

Base Game
Unidentified Survey Reports
When you obtain a survey report, they will start in an unopened envelope called “Unidentified [Tradeskill] Survey Report”, where [Tradeskill] is the name of the tradeskill. These unidentified survey reports will stack. Opening these reveal a survey report.
Infinite Archive Vision Reroll
- You now have the opportunity to use Archival Fortunes to reroll your possible Vision selections when presented.
- Cost escalates each time the reroll option is used per Vision choice, resetting when a new Vision selection opportunity is presented.
Compass Improvements
The compass has been improved to include more details about the distance from objects that are displayed.
Mount Swimming
Your trusty steed shall fear water in Tamriel no longer! Mounts have been trained to learn how to navigate water, allowing you to traverse Tamriel in new ways.
Dodge Roll Visualization Update
This change is a new visual indicator to convey the increased stamina cost with dodge rolls in quick succession.
Replay Quest Dialogue
Did you miss that last line of dialogue? Well, fear not! With the replay dialogue feature, you can go back and replay the last conversation from the NPC you are actively speaking to.
Cyrodiil Vengeance Testing Round 3!
Various systems have been turned on for this testing round to see what overhead they could contribute to overall performance. Skyshards, Mount Selection (along with any collectibles allowed in Cyrodiil), Titles, and Achievements have been re-enabled.
Please note Vengenace Testing will be made available later in the U47 cycle and wlll not be live at launch.
- Meatbag Catapults are back, however they no longer leave a ground lingering effect and only effect players on impact.
- Mages and Fighters Guild lines have been added, again, with tailored abilities for performance.
- A new armor skill line has been added which includes all three active abilities for light, medium and heavy armor, tailored for performance.

New Homes
Two new homes are available for purchase later, but we are highlighting here:
Hiddenspring Cottage
- Bucolic comfort awaits! This cozy cottage nestled among stalwart trees and bubbling brooks provides a charming escape from the strife of the outside world. Grab a book, pack a picnic basket, and let nature enfold you in its many wonders.
- This classic home will be available for purchase later.
Wildgrown Chapel of Julianos
- Twisted by magical growth, a crumbling chapel to the God of Wisdom and Logic now hangs above the river Strid. A nearby Colovian manor house provides shelter from the elements for any who dare rest within this tangle of restless greenery.
- This Notable home can be earned some time later this year.
New Furnishings
In this update we’re adding a variety of new furnishings mostly focused on new structural furnishing recipes, but there’s plenty more for you to check out!
52 new furnishing plans are being sourced in 4 locations.
- 7 new Master Writ furnishings, which can be purchased from Rolis Hlaalu.
- 26 new structural furnishing plans, which can be acquired via the Solstice Reward Coffer, obtainable by completing the Solstice World Boss, or Delve Daily Quests.
- 11 can be earned from reward coffers during the Battle for the Writhing Wall event.
- 8 new art and bird themed recipes can be obtained from monsters, containers, and more across Tamriel.
8 new achievement furnishings are being added and can be unlocked or purchased after completing the prerequisite achievements.
- 2 new achievement furnishings that can be purchased from the Undaunted Quartermasters, after completing the “Black Gem Foundry Vanquisher” and “Naj-Caldeesh Vanquisher” achievements.
- 4 new trophy and bust furnishings can be earned from completing the Naj-Caldeesh and Black Gem Foundry dungeons on normal and veteran difficulties.
- 2 achievement furnishings that can be purchased from Sabione Adrard in Sunport.
6 new furnishings have been added to home good venders and can be purchased for gold.
- 5 new home goods furnishings can be purchased from “Mahei-Jekka” in Skingrad’s “Stalwart Hearthgoods” shop.
- 1 new home goods furnishing can be purchased from “Masela” in Western Skyrim’s “Dragon’s Hearth” shop.
Update 47 – Base Game Improvements
Vengeance Test 3

Endeavors and Golden Pursuits
- Endeavors and Golden Pursuit tasks for completing consumable and durable Master Writs now correctly categorize enchanting glyphs as a consumable product instead of a durable product.
General
- Corrected an issue that could cause a “The target is out of range” error when attempting to use certain Alchemy and Enchanting stations from the side.
Unidentified Survey Reports
- Adjusted the quality of Unidentified Survey Reports to Superior (blue), to match the resulting survey reports.

Crown Store
- Scribing Bundle
- Players who are level 30 are now able to correctly acquire the Scribing Bundle.
Customized Actions
- The Lunar Oregathering customized action was now player the correct sound effects when harvesting Rubedite Ore.
General
- Pellitine Anniversary Drape: Reduced visible stretching on torso for male archetypes.
- Fire Rune, Dazzling White Skill Style: Added appropriate icon.
- Infectious Claws, Verdant Green Skill Style: Added appropriate icon.
Polymorphs
- Players wearing the Molag Bal Illusion polymorph will now whistle as expected when summoning their mount.

- Fixed a large batch of harvest node placement issues in Bleakrock Isle, Bal Foyen, Stros M’Kai, Betnikh, and Khenarthi’s Roost.
- Rewards from all Trial leaderboards now include purple quality Transmutation Geodes.
- Vykand’s Soulfury pieces now have correct icons.

Houses
General
- Fixed an issue in the “Ebonheart Chateau” house where you could be hurt by lava without touching it in some areas.
- Fixed a few minor visual issues in “Bismuth Steams Baths” house.
- In the Amaya Lake Lodge you no longer will have your initial view of the home obscured by a black box.

- Adjusted the pivot point for the following furnishings to better align the nodes to the furnishings:

- “Tree, Banana” is now “Sapling, Banana” to match the category better.

- “Solstice Bismuth, Large Tower” is now “Large Solstice Bismuth Tower” to match the antiquity lead name.
- “Stone-Nest Totem, Geometric” is now “Geometric Stone-Nest Totem” to match the antiquity lead name.
- You can now obtain the “Blueprint: Tide-Born Duster, Wicker” furnishing plan from Solstice as expected.
- Furnishing packs purchased from the crown store should now properly sort into the consumable category in your inventory.
UI
- We modified the Housing Editor UI slightly to list where furniture will be retrieved, next to the keybind of “Put Away”. This retrieve to location can be changed when in retrieve mode in the Housing Editor.
- The New Item indicator should now properly clear for items placed in the vault.
- Collectible item set pieces now show as correct “collected” state icon when stored in house chests and coffers.
- Furnishing categories with stolen items, which cannot be deposited into the vault, should no longer flash the “new item(s)” animation, as they are not valid items to deposit into the vault.

General
- Resolved a rare instance where you sometimes would be unable to interact after using a chair.
- Camera errors with NPCs and objects have been resolved throughout the base game.
- Fixed a few more “speedy guards” patrolling around cities in the game. Nyoooooom!
- Updated the “Finding Set Items” help entry to include information on crafted sets, as well as group dungeon, arena, and trial sets.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when using addons.
- Your view no longer spins continuously when running the game at a non-native resolution in certain situations. No more Vertigo!
- If your CPU has six cores or less, you will see improved game client performance. Previously, seemingly random performance drops could occur due to thread contention.
Energy Sustainability
- You can now set how long it takes for Energy Sustainability effects to turn on while you are idle. Three options are available in the settings menu.
Mounts
- Large mounts no longer disappear when viewed from certain angles.
- Your camera should now longer clip through terrain while riding the Timber Mammoth. Please let us know if this still persists.
Outfit Station
- Your legs no longer get distorted at an outfit station.
Preview
- Previewing Skill Styles while a costume or polymorph is equipped now works as intended.

General
- Fixed issue where numerous enemy-summoned Ice or Molten Pillars counted toward giant kills for Endeavors.
- Mudcrabs that were respawning too quickly in Alik’r, Bleakrock, and Stormhaven have been dealt with.
Gandranen Ruins
- Fixed an Ancient Fire Mage that was not targetable until it moved away from its spawn point.

General
- Updated the timing of some VO Lines so they no longer overlap.
Craglorn
- The Warrior’s Call: Titus Valerius now goes into a defensive posture when you enter combat, rather than standing there like a lump.
Khenarthi’s Roost
- Cast Adrift: Fixed an issue where Jyklos’s storm effects could persist on both him and his spawn location during combat.
Main Quest
- Soul Shriven in Coldharbour:
- Lyris learned how to open doors, rather than phase through them to enter The Bleeding Forge.
- The Freezing Sigil trap will properly trigger in The Undercroft.
- Shadow of Sancre Tor: Molag Bal’s grubby hand now appears when he arrives to claim Mannimarco’s soul.
- Companions and Pets no longer their ghostly VFX after exiting any of the Prophet’s visions.
- God of Schemes: Fixed an issue where if you logged out or left the Harborage before turning the quest in to Cadwell, he might not reappear.
A Moonlit Shadow
- You no longer caninteract with other players’ Zerith-vars (ominously named “Grim Swordmage”).

Addon Development
- Added a new SpecializedItemType for CONTAINER_STACKABLE to go with the new ItemType to help add-ons work more consistently.
General
- Stack counts do not display on buffs that don’t have stacks.
- Icons should now display correctly when clicking and dragging.
- Resolved a UI error related to unit attribute visualizers.
- Multiple text labels throughout the UI now use the correct color.
- The confirmation message for sending a C.O.D mail now correctly displays the username.
- Adjusted the messaging and display of locked skill styles.
- Item style will now show on its own line in an item tooltip.
- You will now load in to the pre-login screen several seconds faster.
- Fixed a potential crash related to map pins.
- Fixed UI error that could occasionally appear in keyboard UI when navigating to the Golden Pursuits menu.
- Quests markers now show on the map while in a house.
- Your companion will no longer overlap with you when summoning a companion while in a group.
- Loot menus should no longer get stuck on the screen while moving.
- Made additional adjustments to UI assets as part of the UI refresh.
- Added a new “Toggle Sprint” setting for keyboard. When “On”, turns your sprint into a toggle instead of a hold (like how gamepad behaves innately.)
- Attempting to place furniture after purchasing no longer causes the camera to lock.
- Added support for server-wide system announcements that can be shown at the start or end of any phase of a global event.
- Resolved an UI error with the gamepad Golden Pursuits UI.
- Unlocking an entire lorebook collection at once, such as by reading a style book, will now only trigger a single notification.
- Added a shared event specific Point of Interest icon with a new tooltip displaying progress to the map.
- Claiming a Golden Pursuits reward should no longer cause the Hero’s Return screen to appear.
- Addons texture work as intended and no longer display corrupted graphics instead of the actual image.
- Long character names no longer overlap with text in the character sheet.
- Adjusted the appearance of the Vision Reroll option in Infinite Archive to be more consistent with similar text elsewhere. Additionally, we resolved a formatting issue when this label gets too long.
- The quest tooltip when viewed on the map will no longer prompt you to “left click to track quest” when the quest is already tracked.
- The sound effect for gaining gold now plays as intended.
- New Item indicator will now properly clear for items placed in the vault.
Additional Controller Customizations
- The team has added further controller customizations, specifically for look speed in first and third person. These new options can be found in the Camera Settings menu.
Audio
- Added a replay dialog button to NPC interactions. Also added screen narration support to the NPC conversation screen.
- Added missing menu sounds to multiple screens.
- Menu sounds should be playing correctly as intended.
- The functionality that muffles background sounds while scrying no longer gets stuck on your character.
Gamepad
- Swapped currency and capacity on the store header to match the order in inventory.
- Adjusted the default input mode to automatic for new installs and made it so the mouse can be used in gamepad menus without auto-swapping the UI to mouse and keyboard.
Language
- Japanese
- Fixed spacing issue in Japanese lore books.
Previously, a major ESO update 40 added new features, various tweaks and changes. Unfortunately, players are reporting several problems with the game. Today’s ESO version 1.017 will solve a few of these problems.
