What to Expect from Shadow of the Erdtree – June 11, 2024
New Areas and Challenges
Shadow of the Erdtree takes place in a new region called the Land of Shadow, comparable in size to Limgrave, the expansive starting zone in the base game. This new area will feature:
- Over 100 New Weapons: Players can discover a wide variety of new weapons, each offering unique combat styles and abilities.
- Eight New Weapon Types: Introducing new categories of weaponry, enhancing the diversity of combat options.
- Ten Major Bosses: Challenging encounters that will test players’ skills and strategies.
- New Dungeons: Including legacy dungeons, as well as medium and small dungeons, adding layers of exploration and mystery.
- Additional Spells and Spirit Ash Summons: Expanding the magical and summoning repertoire for players.
Integration with the Base Game
All new weapons, spells, and skills introduced in the DLC can be brought back into the main game. Conversely, players can also use their existing gear and abilities in the new Land of Shadow. To access the DLC, players need to defeat two major bosses, Radahn and Mohg, and should ideally be at levels 120 to 150 to handle the challenges ahead.
How to Access Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
To enter the Land of Shadow, players must:
- Defeat Mohg: Navigate through Mohgwyn Palace after defeating this formidable boss.
- Find the Entry Point: Head toward the newly appearing giant fleshy ball with a withered arm drooping out. Interact with the arm to be transported to the Land of Shadow.
Shadow of the Erdtree is poised to be a monumental expansion to Elden Ring, offering a wealth of new content, challenging gameplay, and deep lore. As we await its release on June 21, players can prepare by leveling up, refining their builds, and immersing themselves in the rich world of Elden Ring.
