Dungeon Defenders 2 update 2.27 is rolling out on PC (Steam), PS4 and Xbox. According to the official Dungeon Defenders 2 patch notes, the latest update adds a new gamemode (survival), new quality and much more. Apart from this, DD2 patch 2.27 also includes various bug fixes and changes.
Previously, a major update that added a new hero (The Countess) to the game. Unfortunately, since the previous update, many players were experiencing a number of issues when trying to play the game.
Today’s Dungeon Defenders 2 patch 2.27 will fix all these issues.
DD2 Patch 2.27 Notes – August 8, 2023
- New Gamemode – Survival:
- A new gamemode called “Endless Survival” has been introduced.
- Players choose a map and aim to progress as far as possible against increasingly stronger waves of enemies.
- Enemies start at a Chaos I level of strength and become stronger with each wave.
- Completing every five waves rewards players with items, including Survival-exclusive items and new Godly equipment.
- Per-map checkpoints are introduced every fifth wave, allowing players to resume from those points in subsequent attempts.
- New Quality – Godly:
- A new gear quality tier, “Godly,” has been added.
- Godly gear has 3 Mod and 3 Shard slots, as well as a unique tertiary stat.
- Godly gear can roll with 3 Mods upon acquisition and can only be obtained by playing Survival.
- New Material – Godly Orb:
- Godly Orbs are introduced as a new material.
- They are used to Advance Legendary gear into Godly gear.
- Godly Orbs can also reroll the tertiary stat on Godly equipment at the Blacksmith NPC.
- Obtained by selling Godly Gear.
- New Items – Survival Bag and Survival Chest:
- Survival Bags: Reward for completing every 5th wave.
- May contain Legendary Weapons, Armor, and Relics.
- Provides Gold, Motes, Hammers, and Chaos 1-10 Shards based on bag type.
- Four tiers of Survival Bags: Plain, Shiny, Pristine, and Exquisite.
- Survival Chests: Obtained with a 20% chance every five waves.
- Similar rewards to Bags, with a chance for Godly equipment in Pristine chests.
- Exquisite Chests guarantee at least one Godly item.
- Survival Chests also include Survival Shards, Gold, Materials, and a chance for Defender Packs and new Rings.
- Survival Challenges:
- Each Survival map has challenges associated with reaching certain wave milestones.
- Completing these challenges offers rewards, including 1,000,000 gold and a common defender pack.
- New flairs can be earned by completing challenges for survival checkpoints on any map.
- Survival Shards:
- Introduces various Survival Shards with unique effects.
- Examples include damage reduction after using slam ability, increased damage for status effects on enemies, and more.
- Blacksmith and Explorer Changes:
- The Blacksmith no longer sells items; offers Reforge and Devolve services.
- Reforge allows rerolling tertiary stat on Godly gear using Godly Orbs and hammers.
- Devolve lets players downgrade gear from one chaos tier to the tier below.
- The Relic Hunter is renamed to Explorer, selling Survival Chests and Shard packs in exchange for Godly Orbs.
- New Material Bundles:
- Four material bundles added, each containing 99 Motes of a specific quality and 40 of other materials.
- Balance Changes:
- Flame Burst scalar increased by 50%.
- Adjustments to AoE increase and decrease.
- Bug Fixes:
- Various bug fixes, including issues with Heroic Wave stacking, tinkering, carnival crates, and more.
- Miscellaneous Changes:
- Opening movie replaced with a new Chromatic Games intro.
- Players can stack items in their inventory.
- Damage numbers above 5,000,000 now appear on enemies.
- New Twitch Drops available from August 8th to August 31st, offering exclusive in-game cosmetics through watching streamers.
- Changed Files in This Update:
- A list of specific files that were added, modified, or removed in the update.
