Dune Spice Wars Update 1.0 Patch Notes for PC

Dune Spice Wars update 1.0 is now rolling out on PS5 and PC (Steam). According to the official Dune Spice Warspatch notes, the latest update brings a wealth of new content, reworks, and fixes, including gameplay changes like Sanctuaries, Champion units, House Ecaz, mission overhauls, development tree rework, and more. Apart from this, Dune Spice Wars patch 1.0 also addresses issues like unit upkeep, water requirements, and bug fixes.

Since the last patch, players are facing a number of problems with the game. Today’s Dune Spice Wars patch will fix a few of these issues.

Dune Spice Wars Patch 1.0 Notes – September 14, 2023

Main Mechanics:

  1. Surrounded neutral villages now become Sanctuaries, providing +1 Authority production per Sanctuary on the map.
  2. Villages around Sanctuaries gain +1 instance of their traits.
  3. Masterpieces can be built in villages and are not removed if the village is liberated. Destroying them brings huge penalties.
  4. A single village can become a Garden Resort, producing knowledge and influence.
  5. A single military unit can become a Champion, with increased stats and hegemony gained by killing units of enemy factions.
  6. House Ecaz is now playable in conquest.
  7. Four new missions and a huge balancing and rework of all existing missions.
  8. Rework of conquest flow and resources.
  9. Five new common conquest bonuses.
  10. Heroes are now stronger and more unique.
  11. Full rework of the development tree content and shape.
  12. Rework of development cost scaling.
  13. Units no longer have Manpower upkeeps.
  14. Basic non-mechanical units no longer cost Solari.
  15. Healing non-mechanical units cost Manpower, while healing mechanical units cost Solari.
  16. Added a minimum font size accessibility option to scale small texts.
  17. Units and Villages no longer have Water requirements.
  18. Almost all buildings have Water Requirements.
  19. Wind Trap is now in a T3 development and is available from the start for Fremen.
  20. Introduced a new building called Dew collector (+3 Water) available from the start.
  21. All non-mechanical units’ max supply and supply regen depend on available Water, while mechanical units have no supply.
  22. Removing an infiltration cell now requires launching a spying operation, ‘Cell Search,’ followed by investigating the village with a unit.
  23. A tech unlocks the possibility to put up to 3 infiltration cells in an enemy territory.
  24. Assassination upkeep increases over time.
  25. Agents on counter-intel on the defender’s side slow down the assassination over time.
  26. Sending an Assassin to your infiltration cell resets the speed of the assassination.
  27. Each Sietch can only be pillaged once.
  28. Pillaged Sietch no longer sends raids.
  29. Pillaged Sietch can no longer trade or be allied with the faction that pillaged them.
  30. Concord Chambers, Drone, and Kraken were reworked.
  31. Office of Order, Cerberus, Stealth probe, and Executioner were reworked.
  32. Machine Scraps were reworked into Spaceship Parts.
  33. UHQ (Ultra High-Quality) are almost instant to install, and UHQ extension construction is instant.
  34. Introduced new UHQ Extensions.
  35. Added a new base bonus: +10% speed outside of combat.
  36. Reworked several units, including Scavenger, Wrecker, Banshee, Wraith.
  37. Reworked several heroes, including Gurney Halleck, Duncan Idaho, Iakin Nefud, Piter De Vries, Bannerjee, and Lingar Bewt.
  38. The 3 base units are unlocked from the start, and the Elite unit is unlocked at 10k hegemony.
  39. Introduced new Atreides and Smugglers gear.
  40. Reworked Atreides Drone gear.

Bug Fixes:

  1. Fixed brown screen on new games.
  2. Fixed some memory leaks.
  3. Fixed wormsign that didn’t show up sometimes when a worm was detected.
