Star Wars Outlaws follows a different path from most other Star Wars games. Unlike games centered around Jedi and the Rebel Alliance, Star Wars Outlaws focuses on Kay Vess. The storyline takes players away from the Force-sensitive characters and into a world of smuggling, bounty hunting, and dodging imperial forces. This new direction brings an exciting shift in gameplay, but it also means the absence of certain classic Star Wars elements — specifically, lightsabers.
Will There Be Lightsabers in Star Wars Outlaws?
If you’re hoping to fight enemies with a lightsaber, you’ll be disappointed to learn that Star Wars Outlaws will not feature lightsabers at launch. Ubisoft has confirmed that the game will focus on more traditional weapons, like blasters, to reflect the outlaw lifestyle of Kay Vess.
While it’s possible that lightsabers could be added later through DLC or a special event, there are no current plans for their inclusion in the base game.
Other Weapons in Star Wars Outlaws
Although there are no lightsabers, Star Wars Outlaws offers a variety of powerful weapons:
- VM19 Heavy Blaster: A reliable, high-powered firearm.
- Z6 Rotary Blaster Cannon: Ideal for taking on large groups of enemies.
- A300 Blaster Rifle: Versatile and effective at medium range.
Players will have plenty of options to customize their combat style with these tools.
Final Words – August 27, 2024
Though the game won’t have lightsabers, there’s still a lot to be excited about in Star Wars Outlaws. The open-world design, immersive storytelling, and fresh focus on the underworld of Star Wars offer a unique take on the galaxy far, far away.
