Diablo 4 Update 1.053 Patch Notes (Version 1.053.000)

Diablo 4 update 1.053 (patch 1.5) is available to download on PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox consoles. According to the official Diablo 4 version 1.053 patch notes, the latest update introduces new audio cues for Infernal Hordes, increases Infernal Compass drop rates, and adds new unique items and legendary aspects for all classes. Apart from this, today’s Diablo 4 update 1.053 also addresses numerous bugs across all classes and general gameplay, ensuring smoother mechanics and intended functionality.

Audio and Wave Adjustments

  • Distinct audio cues added for wave start and end.
  • Wave adjustments:
    • Tiers 1-3: 6 waves
    • Tiers 4-5: 7 waves
    • Other tiers unchanged.
  • Wave timer reduced to 60 seconds.
  • Increased number of monsters encountered.
  • Health pools of Council and bosses reduced.

Infernal Compasses

  • Increased drop frequency and methods.
  • Tiers 4-5 Compasses now drop in high-tier Nightmare Dungeons.
  • Tiers 4-8 Compasses drop in high-tier Pit runs.
  • Rare drops in Helltide and Whisper caches after specific Nightmare Dungeon or Pit completions.
  • Craftable at Occultist using Forgotten Souls and Sigil Powder.
  • Compasses can be salvaged for Sigil Powder.
  • Increased drop rate within activity.
  • Rewards from chests increased; chest prices decreased.
  • Increased drop rate for Abyssal Scrolls.

  • Endurant Faith (Gloves)
    • Affixes: All Stats, Max Life, Cooldown Reduction, Healing Received.
    • Power: Damage distributed and reduced over 2 seconds if it exceeds 40% of max life.
  • Shard of Verathiel (1-Handed Sword)
    • Affixes: Damage, All Stats, Max Resource, Basic Attack Speed, Basic Skills.
    • Power: Increased Basic Skill damage; increased primary resource cost.
  • Rakanoth’s Wake (Boots)
    • Affixes: Movement Speed, Non-Physical Damage, Resistance to All Elements, Cooldown Reduction.
    • Power: Explodes with Fire damage when casting a cooldown skill.
  • Locran’s Talisman (Amulet)
    • Affixes: Resistance to All Elements, All Stats, Max Resource, Critical Strike Damage.

Legendary Aspects

  • Of Inevitable Fate: Enemies below 35% life with DoT effects explode.
  • Wildbolt: Distant enemies pulled and electrified, taking bonus damage.
  • Sticker-thought: Gain Thorns while channeling.
  • Of Sly Steps: Defensive skills trigger automatically after losing 50% life.
  • Dark Dance: Core Skills cost life instead of primary resource above 60% life, dealing bonus damage.
  • Creeping Death: Increased DoT damage per crowd control effect; bonus damage to unstoppable monsters and bosses.
  • Prudent Heart: Immunity to damage for a short duration when taking a significant hit.

Barbarian

  • Unbroken Chain (Amulet)
    • Affixes: Resistance, Movement Speed, Ultimate Damage, Cooldown Reduction.
    • Power: Reduces Iron Maelstrom cooldown with Steel Grasp; enemies deal less damage.
  • The Third Blade (1-Handed Sword)
    • Affixes: Damage to Close Enemies, Strength, Fury on Kill, Vulnerable Damage, Weapon Mastery Damage.
    • Power: Weapon Mastery Skills become Core Skills, reduced cooldown, cost Fury, deal reduced damage.

Legendary Aspects

  • Executioner’s: Earthquake spawns when killing an enemy with Overpower.
  • Of the Fortress: Damage reduction based on missing life.
  • Of Anger Management: Berserk state while above certain Fury, drains Fury over time.

Druid

Unique Items

  • The Basilisk (Staff)
    • Affixes: Damage to Crowd Controlled Enemies, Earth Attack Speed, Critical Strike Damage, Physical Damage, Critical Strike Chance Against Stunned Enemies.
    • Power: Petrify enemies on first hit with Earth Skill, dealing Physical Damage.
  • Mjölnic Ryng
    • Affixes: Resistance, Shadow Resistance, Willpower, Critical Strike Chance, Movement Speed while Cataclysm is Active.
    • Power: Unlimited Spirit and increased damage during Cataclysm.

Legendary Aspects

  • Moonrage: Chance to summon wolf companions on enemy kill, increases Wolves skill.
  • Rejuvenating: Chance to refill Spirit when dropping below 20.
  • Spirit Bond: Damage shared with companions; companions cannot die.

Necromancer

Unique Items

  • The Mortacrux (Dagger)
    • Affixes: Damage, Intelligence, Critical Strike Damage, Vulnerable Damage, Hewed Flesh.
    • Power: Chance to create decaying Skeletal Simulacrum when consuming a Corpse.
  • Path of Trag’oul
    • Affixes: Maximum Evade Charges, Armor, Movement Speed, Bone Prison Cooldown Reduction, Bone Skills.
    • Power: Bone Prison covers larger area, fires Bone Splinters, increases Essence.

Legendary Aspects

  • Shademist: Minions deal Shadow Damage over time.
  • Of the Cursed Aura: Aura applies curses to nearby enemies, spreading curses.
  • Of the Great Feast: Minions drain Essence but deal bonus damage; applies to player if no minions.

Rogue

Unique Items

  • The Umbracrux (Dagger)
    • Affixes: Damage, Dexterity, Vulnerable Damage, Subterfuge Cooldown Reduction, Innervation.
    • Power: Subterfuge Skills create Shade Totem, replicates damage.
  • Shroud of Khanduras
    • Affixes: Evade Movement Speed, Non-Physical Damage, Shadow Resistance, Dark Shroud.
    • Power: Dark Shroud grants immunity, increases Evade Cooldown, leaves explosion.

Legendary Aspects

  • Of True Sight: Damage to Inner Sight targets always crits with bonus damage.
  • Coldclip: Basic skills always Cold Imbued, increased damage to Chilled & Frozen targets.
  • Clandestine: Increases Agility and Subterfuge Skills.

Sorcerer

Unique Items

  • Axial Conduit
    • Affixes: Chain Lightning Projectiles, Damage Reduction, Resource Generation and Maximum, Chain Lightning.
    • Power: Chain Lightning alternates between orbiting and seeking enemies, drains Mana, explodes after draining.
  • Vox Omnium (Unique Staff)
    • Affixes: Lucky Hit Chance, Intelligence, Core Attack Speed, Non-Physical Damage, Basic Skills.
    • Power: Casting Core Skill fires additional projectiles matching last non-Core Skill elements.

Legendary Aspects

  • Winter Touch: Frozen enemies take increased damage.
  • Jolting: Periodic lightning zap to nearby enemies.
  • Firestarter: Additional direct Fire damage when applying Burning.

General Updates

  • Reworked Exploit Weakness: No longer executes all enemies; increases damage for hitting vulnerable enemies.
  • Reworked Björnfang’s Tusks: Now part of Cataclysm.
  • Improved Legendary item drop rates in Helltide for monsters above level 100.
  • Removed Masterworking materials penalty for party members in Pit runs.

Bug Fixes

Barbarian
  • Double Swing: Fixed issue where it did not strike additional times on a fifth cast with Twin Strikes.
  • Expose Vulnerability Passive: Now triggers correctly from Basic Skills with Shard of Verathiel.
  • Crown of Lucion: Stacks now granted while channeling Whirlwind.
Druid
  • Poison Creeper: Fixed high damage scaling when hitting multiple enemies.
Necromancer
  • Aspect of Bursting Bones: Properly scales with Path of Trag’Oul effect.
Rogue
  • Stun Grenade: Fixed certain effects not functioning properly.
  • Advanced Flurry and Momentum: Stacks no longer lost when triggering Lucky Hit or on-hit effects.
  • Tempering Affix – Bonus Life with Dark Shroud: Now functions correctly.
  • Tempering Affix – Bonus Damage with Dark Shroud: Adjusted to intended damage levels.
  • Tempering Affix – Resistance Increase: Now increases Maximum Resistance after using a Health Potion.
  • Enhanced Caltrops: Damage increase now works as expected.
  • Vengeful Aspect: Lucky Hit Chance corrected from 10% to 25%.
  • Fundamental Blade Shift: Now properly Dazes targets after 3 stacks.
  • Advanced Flurry: Gains damage from stacks when imbued.
  • Malice Damage Bonus: Corrected to be multiplicative instead of additive.
  • Enhanced Dark Shroud: Bonus Movement no longer lost when switching equipment.
Sorcerer
  • Enhanced Lightning Spear: Functionality and Critical Strike Chance fixed.
  • Axial Conduit: Explosion now benefits from Greater Chain Lightning and deals intended damage.
  • Chain Lightning Projectiles: Now benefit from Axial Conduit.
  • Aspect of Elemental Acuity: Can now be applied to Amulets.
  • Flame Shield Enchantment: Fixed functionality issues and cooldown when granted by Aspect of the Firebird.
General
  • Azurewrath: Fixed Freeze and Cold damage effects for Druids and Sorcerers.
  • Unique Items: Resolved account-bound issues on pickup.
  • Tortured Gifts: Items now drop consistently in World Tiers I and II.
  • Tempering Recipes: Fixed loss after Seasonal Migration.
  • Immunity Skills: Cooldowns now trigger correctly when automatically cast.
  • The Pit Boss Health: Health no longer decreases with each respawn.
  • The Pit Monsters: Damage reduction buff no longer applied to non-boss monsters.
  • Mother’s Judgement Boss: Now drops loot.
  • Varshan: Spawn issues resolved.

Previously, Diablo 4 patch 1.12 introduced new unique items and legendary aspects. Unfortunately, since the last patch 1.21, players are experiencing error codes and bugs. Today’s D4 update 1.054 will address a few of these issues.
