Death Stranding 2 update 1.8 is now available to download on PC. According to the official DS2 On the Beach update 1.8 patch notes, the latest update improves VSync behavior with frame generation technologies, enhances distant terrain visuals, upgrades Intel XeSS Frame Generation support, and fixes a progression blocker tied to Main Orders. Today’s Death Stranding 2 patch 1.8 also adds PlayStation social features alongside Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller icon support.

Graphics & Performance
- Fixed an issue where VSync did not restore correctly after enabling or disabling frame generation.
- Resolved a problem that could leave VSync enabled when DLSS Frame Generation was turned on.
- Improved distant terrain texture quality when using High or Very High texture settings.
- Updated Intel XeSS Frame Generation to the latest version.
- Added support for Multi Frame Generation on supported Intel GPUs.
- Added XeLL support on supported Intel GPUs.
- Included various Intel XeSS bug fixes.
Progression Fixes
- Fixed a rare issue that could stop the next Main Order from progressing after saving and loading in Magellan’s private room.
Controls & Compatibility
- Added support for C/GL/GR button icons for the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller.
- Fixed an issue where map markers could sometimes not be placed or removed when the game was running below 30 FPS.
Social Features
- Added support for displaying PlayStation friends when signed in to a PlayStation account.
- Added support for displaying PlayStation user avatars when signed in to a PlayStation account.
User Interface
- Implemented multiple user interface improvements and fixes.
Localization
- Fixed various minor localization-related issues.
