Dead Space Known Issues, Bugs, and Fixes – January 24, 2023

Dead Space Launch Error or Won’t start properly

Please make sure that your game files are not damaged. This can be done on PC(Steam), please right-click on the game in your library and then click on properties -> local files -> verify.

1. Open Steam parameters (Steam > Parameters).
2. Select the tab “Downloads”.
3. Click on the button “Clear download cache”.

Also, disable the Antivirus and run the game.

Workaround: Running Game As Administrator

To run the game as Administrator.

1. Right-click Forspoken in your Steam Library.
2. Go to Properties then the Local Files tab.
3. Click Browse Local Files.
4. Locate the game executable (the application).
5. Right-click it and go to Properties.
6. Click the Compatibility tab.
7. Check the Run this program as an administrator box.
8. Click Apply.

Dead Space Sprint Issue

If you are unable to sprint in the Dead Space remake, follow the steps below to fix this issue.

1. Go into the Controls/Keybinds and “Clear” every single Controller Button mapped in the Controls options.
2. Press T to clear an action, so just make sure you clear the Controller Buttons and nothing else.

   Some of the buttons mapped can’t be cleared, but clear every single one that you can and the game works normally.

Dead Space crash after startup/launch

• There is a bug where the game crashes shortly after startup on PC. The fix will be available soon.

Video Memory Crash

Players are reporting Forspoken PC crashes with the warning.

Workaround: Try the following and restart your computer afterward:

How to change page file size

1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard
2. type sysdm.cpl and press enter.
3. Go to the Advanced tab and press Settings under the Performance section.
4. Press the Advanced tab in the Performance Options window.
5. Under Virtual memory, press Change.
6. Tick the box for Automatically manage paging file size for all drives.

Dead Space Controller Issue

Players are reporting a bug where the controllers not working in the Dead Space remake. Follow the steps below to fix the Dead Space Xbox and PS5 Dual Sense controller issue.

1. Unplug every device which could act as a controller.
2. Now, go to Steam Settings and select Controller > Generell Controller Settings > Turn on both Xbox and PS4 Configuration Settings.
3. Select Dead Space and go to the game Properties. Now select Controller and Enable Steam input.

No FOV in Dead Space Remake

Yes, there is no FOV slider in Dead Space remake. Currently, there is no plan to add this feature to the game.

High CPU Temperature in Dead Space Game

Players are reporting high CPU temperature in Dead Space Remake. Please update your graphics drivers and try again.

Dead Space Stuttering/ FPS Drop/ Graphics issues

If you’re using a laptop, check if the game runs on the graphic card and not the integrated graphic chipset of the processor
