According to the official Dayz 1.83 patch notes, the latest Frostline content update hotfix 1.29.2 fixes status icon errors, prevents container item loss after reconnecting, resolves a server restart death issue involving infected attacks, removes unwanted container sounds from wooden sticks, and ensures customized characters are saved correctly between game sessions. Additionally, today’s Dayz patch 1.83 also includes overall stability and gameplay improvements.

Fixes

  • Fixed several issues that caused incorrect status icons to appear.
  • Resolved a problem where items stored in containers could drop to the ground after reconnecting.
  • Fixed an issue that could kill a character if they were unconscious during a server restart while being attacked by infected.
  • Removed unwanted audio effects caused by wooden sticks stored inside containers.
  • Fixed character customization settings not being saved after restarting the game.

Known Issues

  • Some loading and menu screens may appear overly bright.
  • Stamina thresholds may not always update correctly after dropping an item.
  • Derringer cannot currently be reloaded by holding the reload key.
  • Some herbivore animals are missing roaring audio.
  • Break-action weapon reload animations may appear laggy.
  • Certain areas of Chernarus may show black surface spots when viewed from a distance.
Previously, a major Dayz update 1.82 added Frostline Expansion with new locations, interactive snow mechanics, and key gameplay improvements. Heat buffering, sound design, and inventory systems have been enhanced. Today’s Dayz version 1.83 will address a few of these issues.
