Darkest Dungeon 2 update 1.03 is available to download on PC. According to Darkest Dungeon 2 patch notes, the latest update prevents progress loss, enhances stability, and addresses various visual and UI issues. Additionally, Darkest Dungeon 2 patch 1.03 also includes PS4/PS5 specific fixes.

Previously, a Darkest Dungeon 2 patch addressed an issue with the Fanatic Librarian kill achievement not counting when ignited. Unfortunately, since the last DD2 patch, players are experiencing several glitches including a black screen, sprint bug, high temperature, audio, and others. Today’s Darkest Dungeon 2 update 1.03 will fix a few of these issues.

Darkest Dungeon 2 Update 1.03 Patch Notes – July 26, 2023

General Fixes

Progress and Screen Issues
  • Prevented progress loss across all platforms (originally reported on Xbox).
  • Fixed black screen on obtaining a relationship at the Embark screen.
Input and Navigation
  • Fixed missing input for back button after character selection.
  • Fixed bug preventing players from continuing after returning to the main menu.
  • Resolved issue where Resistance Encounters didn’t reduce Loathing.
  • Reverted changes to Man-at-Arms to avoid early WIP issues for the upcoming PC patch.
  • Fixed shaking while driving in long game sessions.
  • Resolved placeholder text in Bounty Hunter barks.
  • Fixed loss of controller input during driving.
Stability and Visuals
  • Improved stability, specifically FMOD related crashes.
  • Fixes in localization.
  • Various visual fixes.
  • Various UI fixes.

PS4/PS5 Specific Fixes

Navigation and Progress
  • Resolved scenario where players couldn’t proceed past character selection sections (SIEJA specific).
  • Fixed stagecoach rotating around its axis when standing still.
  • Resolved issue with 3 trophies not unlocking.
Controller and Audio
  • Lowered controller speaker volume by 50%.
  • Improved colors for light bar.
  • Added music to dashboard.
  • Vibration checkbox and intensity have default values after restart.
  • Disconnecting second controller displays Controller Disconnection Applet.

Known Issues

  • Missing strings for Man-at-Arms ability descriptions (fixed in next patch).
  • FMOD related crash (fixed in next patch).
  • Path change at Mastery Trainer doesn’t refresh skill button, causing duplicates (fixed in next patch).
  • Inn’s tooltip obscuring other tooltips in hero sheet (fixed in next patch).
  • Inaccessible Quirks (fixed in next patch).
  • Duelists Corpse showed a bark (fixed in next patch).
  • Audio hiccup on transition from combat.
  • Shrine of Reflection narrator dialogues play twice.
  • Loadouts cannot be renamed in the SIEJA.
