Call of Duty Update 1.59 Patch Notes (COD 1.59) for PS4, PC & Xbox

Call of Duty update 1.59 is available to download on PS4, PC, and Xbox One. According to the official COD update 1.59 patch notes, the latest update brings balancing changes, adjustments and quality of life improvements. Additionally, COD update 1.59 also includes adjustments for Aim Assist, audio and multiplayer.

Campaign

  • Narrative Continuation: The story of Black Ops 6 follows the events of Black Ops Cold War and Black Ops II flashbacks from the 1980s.
  • Character Cast: Familiar characters return alongside new faces, providing players with a rich and dynamic cast throughout the campaign.
  • Missions & Decisions: Players will travel the globe in a variety of missions, with unique choices impacting the storyline.
  • The Rook: A customizable safehouse where players can interact with key characters and prep for upcoming missions. It also evolves as the story unfolds.
  • Campaign Rewards: Unlock in-game items such as:
    • Operator Skin
    • Finishing Move
    • Weapon Blueprints for Multiplayer and Zombies
    • More rewards available as you progress through the campaign.
  • Weapons & Equipment: Both new and familiar gear return, ensuring a balance of nostalgia and fresh content.

Zombies

  • Return of Round-Based Zombies: After fan demand, round-based Zombies returns with two new maps at launch:
    • Terminus: The storyline continues with Requiem members escaping a prison on Terminus Island, aided by new character Maya Aguinaldo.
    • Liberty Falls: Set in West Virginia, dimensional breaches open up in the town as part of the Dark Aether storyline.
  • Quests Activation: Main and side quests for both maps will be enabled at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM BST on October 25.
  • Difficulty Adjustments:
    • Difficulty spikes from Round 25 onwards, with enemy toughness and spawning rates increased.
    • Der Wunderfizz: Power-up machine now spawns after Round 25.
  • GobbleGum Rewards:
    • Round 15-29: Earn 1 Whimsical GobbleGum.
    • Round 30-44: Earn 2 Whimsical GobbleGums.
    • Round 45+: Earn 3 Whimsical GobbleGums.
  • Future Content: A third round-based Zombies map is planned to release by the end of the year.

Multiplayer

  • Maps: 16 new maps will be available at launch, featuring new mechanics like Omnimovement, Wildcards, and Combat Specialties.
    • Scorestreaks: New streaks have been added to enhance gameplay.
  • Weapon Arsenal: A total of 33 weapons are available at launch, with ongoing balance updates expected based on player feedback and data.
Weapon Balance Changes:
  • Aim Assist Adjustments:
    • Aim assist was previously disabled at close ranges in the Beta, but has been revised to interpolate the strength based on distance.
    • Close Range: Weakest at point-blank range.
    • Short Range: Gradual increase in strength.
    • Continuous monitoring and updates based on player feedback.
  • Weapon Adjustments:
    • Pistol and Melee Swap Speed: Improved to make quick switching smoother.
    • Weapon Butt Melee: Slight speed increase.
    • ADS Improvements: Adjusted weapon sway, bob, and motion to improve accuracy when entering Aim Down Sights.
    • Depth of Field: Enhanced visuals across all weapons.
Movement Updates:
  • Corner Slicing: Added an option to toggle this feature for enhanced tactical movement.
  • Dive/Slide Settings: Customization added to control the hold time for diving or sliding.
  • Mantle Assist: Players can now adjust the angle of Mantle Assist between tight, medium, or wide.
Multiplayer Map Adjustments:
  • Skyline:
    • Expanded cover points near the hot tub at the center.
    • Added planters for additional cover near spawn points.
    • Multiple new cover points added across the map.
  • Scud:
    • Adjusted bullet penetration values on satellite dish panels.
    • Concrete wall at the main overwatch is now broken out for more bullet penetration.
    • Additional cover added throughout the map to balance gameplay.
  • Rewind:
    • Multiple sightlines have been improved with new cover.

Audio Enhancements

  • HRTF (Head-Related Transfer Function): Introduced to provide an immersive 3D audio experience via Universal Profile in Enhanced Headphone Mode, available for all players.
  • Licensed Music Toggle: Players can disable licensed music, particularly useful for content creators and streamers.
Audio Innovations:
  • Adaptive Audio: The audio system dynamically adjusts to gameplay scenarios.
  • Spatial Reverb: Improved sound depth based on environment.
  • Physics-Based Acoustics: Enhanced sound realism depending on player surroundings.
  • Game Sound Prioritization: Optimized sound cues to ensure important sounds stand out.
  • Asymmetrical Hearing Compensation: New technology for players with asymmetrical hearing to balance in-game audio.

RICOCHET Anti-Cheat System

  • Kernel-Level Driver: PC detection and monitoring updates deployed across Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty®: Warzone™.
  • Live Mitigations: RICOCHET anti-cheat measures like Damage Shield, Disarm, and Splat are active in multiplayer.
  • Machine-Learning Enhancements:
    • Behavioral systems are now in place to speed up detection of cheaters.
    • Aim Bot Detection: New machine-learning models specifically target aim bot usage.

Weapon Damage Patch Notes

  • Weapon Damage Adjustment Table: Introduced for Black Ops 6 and Warzone: Season 01, this table highlights changes between patches.
    • The table tracks damage range adjustments in terms of meters, with both pre-patch and post-patch values for easy comparison.
    • Positive (⇧) and negative (⇩) adjustments are marked with arrows for clarity.
Example (C9 SMG Adjustments):
  • Maximum Damage Range:
    • Pre-Patch: 0 – 12.70m, 29 Damage.
    • Post-Patch: No changes.
  • Medium Damage Range 1:
    • Pre-Patch: 12.71 – 15.88m, 23 Damage.
    • Post-Patch: No changes.
  • Medium Damage Range 2:
    • Pre-Patch: 15.89 – 25.40m, 19 Damage.
    • Post-Patch: Range extended to 27.31m (⇧).
  • Minimum Damage Range:
    • Pre-Patch: 25.41m+, 16 Damage.
    • Post-Patch: Range extended to 27.32m+ (⇧).
Weapon Damage Ranges Explained:
  • Maximum Damage Range: Highest potential damage up to a specified distance.
  • Medium Damage Range: Damage decreases gradually after the Maximum Range ends. Weapons can have between 1 to 3 Medium Damage Ranges.
  • Minimum Damage Range: Lowest damage dealt at long distances, starting after the furthest Medium Damage Range.

Previously, a major Modern Warfare 3 patch 1.35 added new weapons, map changes and quality of life improvements. Unfortunately, players are still experiencing several issues. Today’s Call of Duty version 1.59 will address a few of these issues.
