Best Locations to Explore

  • Nautiloid– The advanced illithid ship is brimming with secrets and can take you to wondrous places. Upgrade it with Dammon and unlock its true potential in the stars beyond Faerun.
  • Druid Grove– Somewhat safe and limited in scope, but absolutely critical to visit first. This nature sanctuary sets the stage for the whole journey ahead.
  • Goblin Warrens– Clearing out these pests nets you XP quickly, and their king hoards surprisingly good loot. Just watch out for those bugbears!
  • Githyanki Fortress– Infiltrating the well-guarded floating castle is extremely hard, but the secrets kept by these militant exiles are well worth the risk.

Hidden & Secret Locations

Many easy-to-miss hidden locations offer awesome loot for those willing to search thoroughly. Follow these tips to find secret areas:

  • Talk to NPCs– Dialogue often hints at hidden spots and how to access them. Pay attention for clues.
  • Read notes– Journals and letters can contain hidden location directions. Read everything.
  • Inspect surroundings– Toggle inspection mode and peer behind objects. Transparent walls may be illusions.
  • Try unusual pathways– Don’t assume blocked routes are inaccessible. Leap gaps, swim underwater routes, teleport past barriers.
  • Return at night– Some hidden locations only open or appear at nighttime. Camp and come back later.
  • Use special senses– Spell effects like Detect Magic or See Invisibility can reveal hidden doors and items.
  • Look UP and DOWN– Secrets lurk above and below the normal field of view. Toggle camera angles.

Discovering even one hidden location can net you super-rare items not findable anywhere else. Keep an open-mind and leave no stone unturned in your search for secrets.

Easter Eggs & Lore

Sharp-eyed explorers are rewarded with clever references and expanded lore. Here are some to look out for:

  • Tarrasque Skeleton– Legendary colossal beast, deadliest monster of D&D.
  • Mindflayer Laboratory– Sinister brain-eating psionic race.
  • Githyanki Mural– Interplanetary warriors in conflict with Illithids.
  • Minsc’s Toy Hamster– Favorite companion of the legendary Ranger hero.
  • Giant Cheese Wheel– Silly meme reference rewarding players who look in strange places.

The gorgeous environments also tell a evocative story of their own. The Druid Grove echoes ancient tales of fey creatures, while the Githyanki Fortress serves as a caution against hubris. Even the humble Goblin Warrens remind us that darkness lurks in unexpected corners of the world.

Keep an eye out for more eggs and lore to be uncovered in future acts!
