Previously, a major update added a Megalo skin, a spooky demon acro statue to theory burrows, updated Para’s eye textures, and a long list of bug fixes. Since the last patch, players were facing a number of problems with the game. Today’s Beasts of Bermuda patch will fix a few of these issues.

Check out more details below.

Beasts of Bermuda Patch Notes – July 6, 2023

  1. Shimmer Summer Skin: The patch added a new shimmer skin called “Waverider” by Soals and Valhalla. This skin can be unlocked by growing a Lurdusaurus to 2.0 Growth on a Life Cycle server. Once unlocked, the skin is available for use on all servers, including Free Roam and Combat servers. The skin has bioluminescence on the body, spikes, and eyes, as well as a metallic marking. It also has a special barnacle layer that can be applied to other Lurdusaurus skins if the skin is unlocked.
  2. Nesting Event Skins: In response to player requests, the Waverider skin can be nested by owners. However, some special marking types, such as Bio Layers and custom surface material files like the metallic layer, will not pass down to offspring to encourage event participation.
  3. Achievement System: The patch introduced a new Achievement Interface called the Achievement Gallery. Players can view and track their progress on various achievements, including Survivor, Incest Survivor, Mutation encounters, Sickness survivor, and dino-specific achievements. The achievements are per-server, except for seasonal achievements that replicate across all servers.
  4. Mutation and Offspring Skin System: The patch included a rework of the skin system. Certain mutations can lock the skin completely to mutated colors or specific layers. Mutations do not pass down to offspring unless the offspring also has one or more mutations. Receiving mutations counts towards the “Mutation Hunter” achievement. There is a dedicated gallery for mutations in the Achievement Gallery under the category “Cosmetics -> Mutation Hunter.”
  5. Map Updates:
    • Spawn Point Regions: When selecting a spawn point on Isla Titania or Volcano Bay, players are now asked to choose a spawn point region (North, South, East, or West). They will spawn at a randomly selected point within the chosen region based on their creature type (flyer, terrestrial, or aquatic).
    • Titania: The map has been expanded with new areas, including Ashen Island and Ashen Trenches. Ashen Island is located on a post-erupted volcano and features a chain of small islands and the deepest oceanic biome called the Ashen Trenches. The landscape is covered in a thick layer of ash, and players can find charcoal and other elements for combatting sickness. Additionally, a rideable raft floats around the Ashen bay area, and there are custom music and a special post-processing effect in the Ashen Area.
    • Expanded Outlands & Outlands Coast: The entire Outlands area is now accessible, including its red clay-like stone cliffy coast line with small coves for exploration and shelter from rain.
    • Other Maps: Changes were made to Bloodbath, Volcano Bay, and Forest Island. Optimizations, additions of critter-possessing shrines, ambient sounds, world event nodes, AI spawners, deity shrines, and fixes to map components were implemented.
  6. Balance Changes: Various balance changes were made to different creatures in the game, including adjustments to grab immunity and diminishing returns duration, ability power and stamina regeneration with the Pressure status condition, draining of ability power while beached and grabbing another player, and more. Specific changes were made to Apato, Elasmo, Ichthy, Lurdu, and other creatures.
