Avowed update 1.2.2 (day one patch) is available to download on Xbox, Steam and PC. According to the official Avowed patch notes, the latest update introduces major crafting improvements, quest fixes, and companion balancing, alongside performance optimizations and UI enhancements. Additionally, Avowed update 1.2.2 also resolves crashes, NPC issues, and adds economy tweaks.

Tier Difference Feedback & Adjustments
- Tier penalties now scale dynamically based on equipment and enemy levels (+/- 4 level gap).
- Tier II enemies now react to hits from lower-tier weapons.
- Reduced damage penalties when weapons are closer in tier to enemies.
- Companions comment less about the player’s equipment quality.
- Upgrade materials can no longer be sold to merchants to prevent accidental resource loss.
NPC & Quest Fixes
Missing NPCs
- Saving and reloading will now restore missing NPCs.
- A future update will fully resolve this issue.
Quest & Exploration Fixes
- Delemgan Glade: Brambles now vanish upon acquiring the Adragan Heart.
- An Untimely End: Grysca now properly interacts with the player, fixing a bug with Thalla the Ogre.
- Key characters (e.g., Ambassador Hylgard, The Watcher Runyd) now respawn correctly when loading saves.
Companion & NPC Improvements
- Revived companions now return with 75% health instead of 50%.
- Increased starting health for companions to improve combat survivability.
Merchants & Economy
- Dawnshore docks merchants now sell ‘Fine’ gear alongside ‘Common’ gear.

- Fixed crash when casting Corrosive Siphon on destructible objects.
- Optimized VFX resource handling when pausing the game to prevent crashes.

- Fixed invisible collision issues in Strangleroot.
- Prevented players from accessing unintended areas via charge abilities.
- Improved enemy navigation on lava tube bridges.
- First Contact with the Enemy: Quest now progresses correctly if all badges are collected beforehand.
- Various quest flow fixes, including Steel Resolve, One Last Drink, and A Lady Never Tells.
- Adjusted environmental design to prevent loot from becoming unreachable.
Gameplay & System Improvements
- Seeds of Vengeance summons now scale correctly.
- One-handed weapon Parry enchantments now function properly.
- Party buffs now correctly target companions only, not summoned creatures.
- Kai no longer gets stuck when using Unbending Defense mid-air.

User Interface (UI) & Controls
- Cloud transfer prompt is now centered on ultrawide displays.
- Xbox cloud transfer buttons no longer shake erratically.
- Chinese characters now display correctly on the initial splash screen.
- Interaction prompts now appear more reliably.
- Radial menu no longer triggers the pause menu when re-entering the game.
- Removed unintended English characters in the One Last Drink quest journal for non-English languages.
- Cloud save UI now defaults to the recommended option.
