Astroneer update 1.54 (Version 1.30.12.0) is available now on PS4, Steam, Xbox, and PC. According to the official Astroneer 1.54 patch notes, the latest update introduces the Tapper, allowing players to harvest organic resources from plants in a sustainable way, and adds new flora variants to the game. Apart from this, Astroneer version 1.54 also includes various bug fixes and gameplay changes.
Previously, a big Astroneer update 1.49 the Custom Games update allows players to create unique game configurations with customizable settings, including starting planet, respawns, power and oxygen settings, research modifiers, and planet generation. Unfortunately, many players are still experiencing several issues. Today’s Astroneer version 1.54 will fix a few of these issues.

Feature Updates
This update focuses on tapping into the power of plants sustainably. Introducing the Tapper, a new item that lets you collect organic resources without harming the environment. Simply place it on tappable plants found on various planets, and you’ll receive organic material or seeds to plant your own space orchards!
New Item – The Tapper
The Tapper collects organic material from tappable plants, which can then be used for crafting, generating power, or trade. It operates without power but takes time to produce organic. Be careful not to place multiple tappers on one plant, as it will split the output among them.

New Flora – Tappables
Tappable plants are a new addition to Astroneer’s ecosystem, spawning across the solar system. Place a tapper on them for instant organic resources or uproot them for seeds to start your own organic farm. These plants also serve as decorative elements around your base.

- Cactile (Calidor)
- Glacio (Pricklepod)
- Stretchpetal (Vesania)
- Honeypot (Atrox)

Bug Fixes in Version 1.30.12.0:
- Both Host and Clients now see their point progress correctly in the EXO Request Platform control panel when playing with a client that has the same number of LTE points or more LTE points than the Host.
- In Multiplayer, Clients now hear destruction sound effects when a harmless hazard is harvested.
- Harmless Hazards should no longer produce debris when blown up by dynamite.
- Power Puzzle box tops should pop open less aggressively.
- Storage Sensors should now function for Trade Platforms.
- Quick Stowing drilled items should now properly slot into the backpack.
- The MOTD menu should no longer open in the background while the Player is in the Store.
- Explosive Personality name now displays without clipping the hat in the Customization Menu.
- If a player has not previously acquired the Starter Bundle, they should now be able to see it available in the store.
