Respawn has released a new Apex update 2.79 for PS4, PC and Xbox consoles. According to the official Apex 2.79 patch notes, the latest update brings quality of life improvements and fixes. Apart from this, today’s Apex version 2.79 also includes stability fixes.
Apex Legends 2.79 Patch Notes

Fixes:
- Fixed crashes in Takeover mode and Road to Ranked challenges.
- Anniversary Event rewards now properly granted.
- Ranked reset issue fixed; affected players received two Apex Packs.
- Fixed matchmaking errors preventing players from joining or leaving matches.
- Resolved FPS drops on Xbox when using Bloodhound’s Ultimate.
- Balance changes:
- EVA-8: Reduced rate of fire.
- Hemlok: Faster burst fire.
- P2020: Increased damage.
- Mozambique: Adjusted for better performance.
- Added general stability fixes.
- Added gameplay performance improvements.
- Addressed game crashing issues
- Other minor tweaks.
The following changes were added previously.
- Mirage Cloaking Issue: Fixed an issue where Mirage was not cloaked after being revived.
- Crypto Visibility: Resolved a problem where Crypto was visible when using Off the Grid with certain skins.
- White Screen Error: Players encountering a white screen at game launch will now receive an error message explaining the cause.
- Bot Royale Stats: Addressed an issue causing inaccurate display of Bot Royale stats.
Visual and Gameplay Improvements:
- Pathfinder Grapple Glitch: Fixed a visual glitch where Pathfinder experienced issues grappling to higher objects.
- Amped Knockout Challenge Names: Corrected certain Amped Knockout challenges whose names did not match their completion requirements.

Weapons
- [Havoc]: Mastery progression will soon no longer require the Turbocharger Hop-Up.
- [R-99/Peacekeeper]: Specific trials for Battle Royale and Mixtape modes are not tracking properly—upcoming fix planned.
Gameplay
- Death Recap: Fix planned for the Death Recap screen, which appears empty after a Kill Replay.
- [Mad Maggie]: Ultimate is not affecting some passive, tactical, or ultimate abilities—upcoming correction.
UI/XP
- [Akimbo]: Held XP in the match summary is displaying lower than expected—pending adjustment.
- Friends List: Bug causing players to see themselves in their own friends list.
- Founder’s Badge: Shows as locked but can still be equipped—fix incoming.
- Weapon Mastery + Trackers: Discrepancies in displayed values between Weapon Mastery and Trackers will be addressed.
Visual/SFX
- Legend Select Screen: No voice or sound effects playing for allies during Legend selection—upcoming fix.
- [Alter]: Occasional skipping of the tactical teleport animation—fix incoming.
Console Performance
- [Xbox]: Addressing FPS drops occurring during Bloodhound’s ultimate ability activation.

Previously, Apex Legends update 2.66 added a new Limited-Time Mode (LTM), Knockout, along with 36 event-themed items, including a Mythic melee item. Unfortunately, since the last Apex patch 2.67, players are still experiencing a number of issues with the game. Today’s Apex Legends version 2.79 will fix a few of these issues.
