Respawn has released a new Apex Legends update 2.98 (Season 27) for PS4, PC, and Xbox One. According to the official Apex 2.98 patch notes, the latest update stabilizes gameplay, corrects visual and UI errors, and introduces a permanent Match ID display for better issue tracking and faster report processing. Today’s Apex Legends version 2.98 also includes gameplay performance improvements.

Stability and Gameplay Improvements
Client Stability

Fixed multiple client crashes that appeared after the season launch, improving overall performance and reliability.
Settings and Controls

Addressed an issue where the “Restore Defaults” option did not reset Mantle Boost settings as expected.
Abilities

Fixed a bug causing Sparrow’s Ultimate ability to move on its own during activation.
Audio and Effects

Implemented various Trident SFX fixes to enhance consistency and sound accuracy.
Ranked Leagues

Corrected the Ranked Points table that displayed incorrect values on the Ranked Leagues page.
Battle Pass Interface

Resolved an issue where XP Boost and Kill Quip images became stuck on the Battle Pass screen.
Quality of Life Update
Match ID Display

Permanently added a visible Match ID at the bottom-left corner for all players.

When reporting cheating, bugs, or performance issues, include this Match ID or show it in screenshots to speed up investigations.
Previously, Apex Legends update 2.87 added Arenas: Duels, a limited-time 1v1 mode focused on raw gunplay with no abilities until July 15. Unfortunately, since the last Apex patch 2.67, players are still experiencing a number of issues with the game. Today’s Apex patch 2.98 will fix a few of these issues.
