Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition (AOE2) update 117204 is now available to download on PC (Steam). According to the official AOE 2 patch notes, the latest update enhances stability, addresses multiplayer and Xbox-specific issues, and tracks community-reported problems for future updates. Apart from this, Age of Empires 2 (AOE 2) patch 117204 also includes stability fixes.
Previously, a big update was released with new Maps, Spectator chat is now activated, and lots of bug fixes. Unfortunately, many players are still experiencing several issues while playing the game.
Today’s AOE2 patch 117204 will fix a few of these issues.

- Match Found Screen Freeze
- Fixed a freeze during the Match Found screen in Quickplay games with certain banned Team maps.
- Intel Graphics Crash
- Fixed a crash related to Intel Graphics drivers.
- Villager Obstruction Crash
- Fixed a crash occurring when villagers tried to reach obstructed areas near map corners.
Multiplayer
- SSL Certificate Error
- Fixed an error when updating SSL certificates.
Xbox
- Multiplayer Freeze
- Fixed a freeze during multiplayer games.
- Long Session Freeze
- Fixed a freeze during long gameplay sessions with Narration options enabled.
- Victors & Vanquished Radial Menu
- Fixed an issue where special units & technologies from Victors & Vanquished scenarios were missing from the radial menu when using a controller.
- Scenario-Specific Buildings
- Fixed an issue where Command Menus for certain scenario-specific buildings were disabled when using a controller.
