Age of Empires 2 (AOE2) Update 111772 Patch Notes

Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition (AOE2) update 111772 is now available to download on PC (Steam). According to the official AOE 2 patch notes, the latest update introduces automatic farm placement and expanded scouting options. Apart from this, Age of Empires 2 (AOE 2) patch 111772 also includes bug fixes and balance changes enhance gameplay.

Previously, a big update was released with new Maps, Spectator chat is now activated, and lots of bug fixes. Unfortunately, many players are still experiencing several issues while playing the game.

Today’s AOE2 patch 111772 will fix a few of these issues.

AOE2 Update 111772 Patch Notes – April 30, 2024

Quality of Life Improvements:

Automatic Farm Placement: Farms can now be placed around a Mill or a Town Center by holding Shift (LT for Xbox) and clicking the Farm over the Building.
Auto Scout for All: All scouting units can now utilize the Auto Scout functionality, not just the starting one.

Bug Fixes and Balancing:

We’ve addressed various bugs based on your feedback.
Some balance adjustments have been made.

Build Spotlight:

Empire Wars Ladder Reset: During the Red Bull Wololo: El Reinado tournament, the 1v1 ranked ladder for Empire Wars will be temporarily replaced. After the tournament, the ladder will revert, retaining existing ratings and leaderboards.
Team Game Update: The map pool for the Team Game ladder will also be refreshed.

Why the Reset?

The temporary reset ensures fairness for all competitors in the upcoming tournament.

Your 1v1 rating may need a few games to stabilize.
Experience the tournament settings and maps firsthand, regardless of participation.
